Michael Flynn's Spiral Arm series: The January Dancer, Up Jim River, In the Lion's Mouth, and On the Razor's Edge
I'll nominate Shawn Kupfer's 47 Echo series: 47 Echo, Supercritical, Fear and Anger. It's short, but fun.

Those are a great set of books. I loved them!
I'll nominate the Foundation Series by Isaac Asimov, starting with Foundation
Kathy, you are a woman with amazing taste, can I second Asimov's Foundation, I really don't mind how far we go, even to the non Asimovs ??
Connie Willis' time travel books would be fun. The two about WWII are on my shelves, but she will never surpass "To Say Nothing About the Dog".
Stemming from the Five Women Authors of Space Opera discussion currently ongoing here, I'd like to nominate Trading in Danger by Elizabeth Moon. This is the first in the Vatta's War series of five books written from 2003-2008. From the description of the book, the plot reads a lot to me like Gordon R. Dickson's Dorsai! (winner of the June 2017 poll) only something has gone horribly wrong instead. Here, the protagonist comes home in shame, booted out of The Academy.I must admit to an ulterior motive in nominating this book. I really want to read the just-published-two-weeks-ago Cold Welcome, Moon's first science fiction since 2008. This book has been generating excitement and might be up for awards. It kicks off what is going to become the Vatta's Peace series. I figure since the same character that featured in Vatta's War is returning to be in this series, it's best to read the old series first.
sorry Laz, I forgot to close this thread! the next Series Read has already been chosen: Foundation series by Isaac Asimov.

Short term, I picked another duology to tide us over (willis' Blackout and All Clear) and we will do nominations here to fill out the rest of the year.
Please nominate a series you think would be fun to read with the group....
