The heroine and her sister were abducted and raped when they were children. She survived and her sister died. She is a true crime writer returning to her hometown to write about the unsolved serial killer who victimized them. She meets the new sheriff (hero) and they become romantically involved when similar murders to the ones from years ago start taking place. I believe in the end the hero's uncle is the perpetrator. thanks. I've been searching and can't find anything. The heroine is disliked upon her arrival in town. i believe the sheriff tails her after he meets get and find her at the fairground where her and her sister were kidnapped. She's working in a theory that a guy dress as a clown kidnapped all the children
