Ok. So when do we start
Is there like a date?

We start reading it on April 1st and we can read as many chapters or pages we want.

Same. I started but wasn't quite into it and ready to give it another shot and maybe this buddy idea will make it more enjoyable :)

I like this book so far. I think both (view spoiler)[ Jude and Noah are interesting characters who have their own problems and insecurities as well as strenghts. They are both growing up and dealing with it in their own ways. Also they are learning how to be two individuals instead of the entity they've been as kids. I'm a twin myself so I find that quite interesting. (hide spoiler)]

I love (view spoiler)[ Brian's and Noah's friendship/relationship. They keep cracking me up and things between them are so beautiful and natural. They remind me a little of Ari and Dante of Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (hide spoiler)]

I think it's sad (view spoiler)[how things turn out to be as the twins grow up. Don't know much of it yet but, judging by the part that was written from Jude's point of view, the things that have happened are not exactly happy. I'd like to know how the twins got so enstranged from one another. Was it only because of the art school? How did their mother's death affect them? We got to see a little of Jude's life at art school but I'd like to know how Noah is doing, too. And is Brian still around? (hide spoiler)]

All the (view spoiler)[ jealousy and rivalry between Jude and Noah is quite sad. I doubt Jude even really likes Brian. I think she's only interested in him because he is considered to be cool and because Noah likes him. (hide spoiler)]

I wonder if (view spoiler)[Noah was the one who sent the photos of Jude's sand figures to the art school. Perhaps he felt bad afterwards remembering how he through away Jude's note. (hide spoiler)]

This latest part was about Jude. I prefer Noah's parts where the twins are still younger but there were some interesting things in this chapter, too. (view spoiler)[ I like seeing how Jude's and Oscar's relationship develops and how Jude is slowly allowing herself to like boys again. I wonder what her mother and grandma meant when they said "That was why you did it". Like did what? Also I wonder what happened to Guillermo that made him stop teaching. And I'm still wondering whatever happened to Brian! (hide spoiler)]

I finished and now that I'm done I feel like I really loved it. However, while I was reading I found some parts a little slow.

I liked (view spoiler)[ Noah and his story from the very beginning. It was mostly the parts about Jude and her stonecarving that I wasn't so interested in but now I see how it all fit into the story. (hide spoiler)]

I usually don't like endings (view spoiler)[where everyone ends up blissful and happy but for some reason I loved this one. I don't really know why. Maybe I just felt like those characters deserved to move on already. And, of course, it's not like they weren't sad anymore. It's more like they finally accepted the past. The only thing I didn't like was Guillermo sending those pictures of Jude's flying women to CSA. It was a bit far-fetched. And I would have liked to know why Brian stayed away so long after things turned out well, when obviously, he was still in love with Noah. (hide spoiler)]

On the whole, I think this was a great book and I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

Welcome Michelle. I just finished yesterday and would be happy to discuss your thoughts as you read on. Overally I really liked the book but there were parts I found a bit slow and things that annoyed me a little.
