Tara Woods Turner I know it's easy to publish under a pen name on Amazon but how can you link that book to an author page on gr? Do you create an ap for your pen name on gr?

From what I gathered, you need to add your real name as a secondary author when creating the book page.

If you can't do it for any reasons, ask this group.

They are GR's librarians and can help you with things like these.

I'd forgotten about them - thank you!

P.D. Workman (pdworkman) Help Topic

I have multiple pen names. Can I claim them all on Goodreads?
Unfortunately, we are not currently set up to accommodate multiple pen names - each user profile can only be attached to one author profile at a time.

However, we can add one common name of your choosing to each book published under each of your other pen names. This would automatically bring together all of your titles on your profile page. If author aliases are enabled in the future, we can then change these titles to the more accurate information. If you'd like to do this, please contact Support with the request.

Alternatively, you can create a separate user profile for your pen name (by signing up for a new account using a different email address) and we can simply keep the two profiles separate until we can merge them properly. To sign up for a new account, log out of your current account and click "register" on the top right of the header.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 968 comments Jayne Ann Krentz writes under the names Amanda Quick, Stephanie James, and a handful of other pen names. I have no idea how, but all her author pages here are connected.

P.D. Workman (pdworkman) Good example!

Some of her profiles are better than others, but several of them have links in the biography to each of her other Goodreads profiles. Just an html link.

She also has both the pen name and Jayne Ann Krentz listed as authors for many of her books.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 968 comments Thanks P.D! I have a suspicion her real name is Jayne Ann Krentz. Hugs!!

Tara Woods Turner Interesting. I don't want any linkage between my fiction and my nonfic. I want some healthy professional distance between the two.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 968 comments Oh, then how about not linking them or identifying them as related? You've already made yourself known for your non-fiction work so create your fictional persona and keep it a secret. Hugs!!

That's what I hope to do but I feel like I'm going to goof it up somehow. My fiction is pretty tame but I enjoy the creative distance a pen name gives me. Wwell, it'll all work out. Thanks, friend :)

Nat Kennedy | 315 comments I have two separate goodreads accounts for my two pen names. I didn't think I could link them, not like the amazon accounts. (and I see, based on reading comments, that you can't.)

This is good bews :) Thanks.

Sam (Rescue Dog Mom, Writer, Hugger) (sammydogs) | 968 comments Hi Tara. Nat is right. Looks like Jayne Ann Castle Krentz, who writes in different genres using seven pseudonyms, lists her pen names with clickable links on 5 of her author pages. It's not automatic like I had thought. Gee, her advertising must have been expensive when she first started out. Good like in your new genre, Tara! Hugs!!

Rohvannyn Shaw | 189 comments On the other hand, it's kind of good. You can reveal yourself in your author bio, and link to the other account, or you can be totally Batman about it in case your other pseudonym writes My Little Pony porn or something.

Now you've upset Dog. He has a my little pony toy of which he is inordinately fond. He has currently hidden it...

I don't consider this my "pen name". I am writing by a pseudonym because I need to disconnect my memoirs, based on real places and people, from my real name (and the books I've written under that name). Of course, I've been using one Amazon account to publish them all, so I worry that they are somehow going to link my one book up to the others written by my real name (which I never should have used, considering the problems it has caused.) This mention of Amazon or Goodreads "merging" the two profiles is actually something I worry about, because it would be devastating to the people I deliberately chose a pseudonym to protect.

Oh no! Poor Dog. Please let Dog know I'm sorry for the trauma.
