Last chance to nominate a book for our next QUARTERLY read...
Let us know here if you have a suggestion!

Hopefully Allison will put up a poll soon so we can vote on 'em.

Some ideas for the next quarterly challenge read:

A Dog's Purpose (A Dog's Purpose, #1) by W. Bruce Cameron

House Rules by Jodi Picoult

Before I Go to Sleep by S.J. Watson

Helter Skelter The True Story of the Manson Murders by Vincent Bugliosi

Good choices, Ev. The last 2 look like something I'd read.

I'll nominate 3 older dystopian classics:

This Perfect Day
This Perfect Day by Ira Levin (1970)

1984
1984 by George Orwell (1948)

Brave New World
Brave New World by Aldous Huxley (1931)

1984 is very realistic. I loved it! Have yet to read the other two. I've been in a dark mood lately so those sound perfect. :)

I'm currently (and slowly) re-reading 1984, I loved This Perfect Day, should re-read at some point, haven't yet read Brave New World!

I'd like to read all 3 again, close together. I'll call it the "Perfect Brave 84" challenge.

Shall I create a poll for these titles?

Maybe not... doesn't look like 'This Perfect Day' got many votes in a recent poll. Maybe because we already live in a semi-dystopia? Hmmmmm....

Q: Do we need to start a fresh 'Quarterly Read Suggestions' discussion, and retire this one? I was thinking maybe we need a new one for each quarter, but that may be overkill. Maybe a new one for each year ('Quarterly Read Suggestions 2018'). What do y'all think?

I was actually thinking about that the other day, going in and sorting out some of the discussion posts. But I’ve just gotten over a horrid sinus infection and now am nursing a sprained ankle so...lol

I like that idea StarMan. To be honest, I haven't checked this page in months, so maybe it's a little stale. I think we should definitely start a new one for the upcoming year.

I'm closing these 2017 Quarterly suggestions, and opening a new thread for 2018 at:

https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

If a book you previously suggested hasn't been selected as a quarterly or monthly read already, feel free to suggest it again :)
