John Fazio | 1 comments My book, Decapitating the Union: Jefferson Davis, Judah Benjamin and the Plot to Assassinate Lincoln, was previously published by McFarland & Co. They and I have legally agreed to return all publishing rights to me, John C. Fazio, the author. Under McFarland, the ISBN-10 was 0786497467 and ISBN-13 was 978-0786497461. This book, having the same title, BUT a different cover, has been self-published using CreateSpace. It's accurate ISBN-10 is 1541095383 and ISBN-13 is 978-1541095380. We have listed a publisher as Morris Gilbert Publishing Company. The old edition had a book price of $45 -- way too much. The new price is $24.95 paperback and $14.95 Kindle. My request is that all references to the old cover, McFarland and $45.00 are removed from Goodreads and that you replace is with the new cover, Morris Gilbert Publishing Company and $24.95 or $14.95 respectively. I am working with Amazon on the same issue. They seem to now have it right. Further, this is what I found with Goodreads: 1) If I Goggle "Decapitating the Union" and select Goodreads, the old information on my book is displayed; however 2) If I Goggle Goodreads and enter "Decapitating the Union" in your site, the proper information is displayed. Obviously, 1) above needs to be fixed. I apologize for the length of this comment. I wanted to give you as much information as I had in an attempt to make your job easier. Thank you.

Goodreads does not delete out-of-print books or editions. Please see and

As the author, you will have the ability to change which edition of the book is the default, which will come up in searches by title and show on your author profile. Here's how:

But you will only be able to do so after your request to claim your author profile has been approved, which can take a few days.
