Joanna | 14 comments I have a similar concern to Bridget (Hers is about Holding up the universe also by Susin Nielsen). Excellent book, well written but the 'secret' that is eventually revealed is disturbing. I'm interested in the opinions of others who have read it - am I just being a super sensitive middle class censor or can I legitimately provide this for my Y7&8s?

Jane (janeboniface) | 123 comments Hi Joanna,
I'm afraid I haven't read "The Reluctant Journal of Henry K. Larsen", but from the reviews on Good Reads and also these teacher's notes: it does seem to be billed as a "Middle School" read.
The age of the protagonist is often a good indicator of what ages a book is written for, and I see that "Henry" is 13. I think I will buy this for our Intermediate. Thanks for posting about it, as I wasn't aware of it before!
