message 1: by Bray (new)

Bray Knox (brayknox) A beautiful path swirling up to the mountain peak.

message 2: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana kept tucking her loose strands of her ponytail behind her ears as she moved silently along the path. She knew that being on such a path meant exposure and people could easily see her but the rumor was that there were plenty of wild game out here. And her boss requested an order and she promised to deliver. Frana kept her hood pull back, seeing as though she couldn't see very well when it covered her face, so she could easily spot anything from all directions. Nocking an arrow in the bowstring, she prepared herself for the prospect of any animals scurrying about.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) A red fox was seen ahead, standing still to listen to the wind and sounds of the mountain.

message 4: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana froze as soon as she saw the bright red fox ahead of her. She quickly hid behind the tree and dared to look at the fox again, readying her arrow.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) A man creeped up behind her. "You're not going to shoot a fox, are you?" He asked her as if he was talking about the weather.

message 6: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Not if it wasn't valuable no," Frana said smoothly, her eyes still on the fox while another hand reached to her side to grab a dagger for 'just in case". "But fox pelts are so, bye bye foxy."

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man grabbed the hand that was reaching for the dagger. "I wouldn't." He warned smoothly.

message 8: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "You wouldn't what?" Frana asked the man, eyeing him out of the corner of her eye while freezing her hand which was just above her hip. "You wouldn't shoot the fox to make money?"

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) "Because foxes are beautiful, elegant, innocent creatures."

message 10: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments He did have a point but Frana had to make herself some money and this was the only thing she was good at. "Are you some sort of antikiller or something?" She gently slipped her hand which was reaching for her dagger out of his grasp and said smoothly, "And if you can stop touching my hip, that would be in your best interest right now."

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) He laughed. "Clever, very clever. Just like a fox." He said, looking up to see the fox scurrying off. "Oh no miss, I am not, how you say, an antikiller. I just, I'd hate to see a fox die."

message 12: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana mumbled under her breath as the fox ran away, sprinting right at it while hiding from tree to tree. She glanced overboard her shoulder wondering if the man was going to follow her.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man was following but could not be seen.

message 14: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana sighed with relief when she couldn't see the man from earlier. And after a quick glance over her shoulder, sprinted towards the fox. She had to kill it. Otherwise, it would mean a day without pay which was dangerous for her. Frana had a reputation to uphold and she couldn't let it get ruined just because of a measly fox.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man had found a shortcut and caught the fox. He was far ahead, sitting on a boulder, stroking the fox.

message 16: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana scowled when she saw the man from before letting the fox, shaking her head as she neared them both. Placing her hands on her hips and removing the hood so her vibrant red ponytail laid on her shoulders, she said, "You have got to be kidding me. Are you two in league with one another?"

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man looked at her. "Hello again. I am 'in league' with all foxes."

message 18: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Oh great," Frana grumbled. "Well do you mind scooting over just a little bit please?" She swiftly moved her way over to the fox and strokes it's head. "You're lovely."

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man smiled and scooted over.

message 20: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Per-fect!" Frana said, clicking her tongue. And with one swipe, she was now clutching the fox in her hands and sprinting off.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man laughed. "Run, run as fast as you can. But only I can catch the gingerbread man."

message 22: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments I don't look like a gingerbread man. Frana thought angrily. I'm not even one for crying out loud!

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man followed her, but made no move to stop her.

message 24: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana glanced over her shoulder and sighed with relief after running for a good ten minutes. She slumped on a tree and smiled sadly at the fox. "I'm sorry. I have to. Otherwise, I won't be able to live through the next day," she said softly to the fox as it gave a slight yelp.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man watched from the shadows.

message 26: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana slipped out her already sharpened knife and swiftly plunged it into the fox's chest, it's blood pouring onto the ground as the life slowly drained away from it. One hit wasn't going to do it. So she slashed it's belly again and that time, the fox fell to the ground. It never brought Frana satisfaction, knowing she had killed something but she had to do it.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) "Well, well. Looks like you did it." The man said, staying hidden.

message 28: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana didn't jump when she heard the man's voice so she gently cleaned blood stained knife and slipped out another knife, getting ready to skin off it's coat. "That's what it looks like, doesn't it?" She said to no one in particular.

message 30: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "No one of interest," Frana said, resuming her work. Once she finished, she stuffed the fur into her sack and headed back towards town. "So you're not gonna stop me, huh?"

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) The man grabbed her shoulder and spun her to face him. "Who are you?" He asked again.

message 32: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Looks like you answered my question," Frana snarled, slipping away from the man's grip. "I'll tell you mine if you tell me yours."

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) "Alright. You first." He said with a humorous tone.

message 34: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments Frana smirked as she said sweetly, "Princess Aurora Vantell. And you are, good sir?" Two can play this game. The simple guessing game of which either on knew who was telling the truth

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) He laughed and bowed. "I am Ruse Renard." He said.

message 36: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Very well Mr. Renard," Frana said, continuing her smirk. "Care to escort me back to the palace?"

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) "Wouldn't that be dangerous? For you, I mean."

message 38: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "I got a bow and a dagger so I think I came handle it," Frana said smoothly, hooking her arm into his. "But, there's not harm in having an escort, is there?"

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) Ruse laughed. "Even against your own people?"

message 40: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Of course! I won't dare be a harmless damsel!" Frana snorted, completely ignoring the fact she was suppose to be a "princess". There was some truth of that but she never was going to be one again.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) Ruse laughed and walked her along. "Where is your kingdom?"

message 42: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Ummmm, Ambrose," Frana said, thinking what to say. Was he really taking her princess role seriously? Or was he playing with her like a toy? "And yourself? Do you come from Kortana?"

((Silver? (Is it okay if I call you that? >.<) I was thinking if it was fine with you if they could possibly be friends?))

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) ((You can call me Silver and that is perfectly fine!))

Ruse smiled. "My home is not of your concern."

message 44: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments ((Oh brilliant! :D I'm really starting to like these two. Haha!))

Frana gave her best pout and whimpered, "But I'm the princess, you have to do whatever I say." It felt odd to play this sissy role after being away from the annoying princesses back home. She liked being a Mask of emotion and never showing what she really was thinking. Only the best of her. . . acquaintances could do that.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) (( : ) ))

Ruse laughed. "It is still not your concern."

message 46: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "What a shame," Frana sighed, staring up at the clouds. "What's your goal in life Ruse? Get rich? Make a family?" Well that was out of the blue.

message 48: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Nuh uh," Frana said childishly while shaking her head. "I asked first. You answer.

((Silver O. Smith - Gods grovel all the same.)) "My goal is not of your concern."

message 50: by lorien (new)

lorien | 616 comments "Alright, fine," Frana pouted then resumed her hard expression from an hour earlier. "You have no idea how hard it is to play an idiotic airhead," she said sternly, pleased that she played her act as an bubbly princess well. Well, sort of.
