Marianne Dobie | 49 comments This book is quite polarising - some of our teachers hated it, and others enjoyed it. I found it well-written, with a twist at the end. Clues were given as to what the twist might be, but I didn't work it out until very near the end. Set in a graveyard, a girl brings up an abandoned baby. She has an imaginary (?) friend who knows what the end will be. Easy and relatively quick to read, but the content is a little disturbing in a supernatural way.

NZBook Girl | 6 comments I've described it as a tamer book along the lines of 'The Graveyard Book' (Neil Gaiman). It's also a very beautiful little book which draws you to pick it up.
