The cover of the book, I believe, had a woman with her face half covered by a book or magazine. It was bright colors with mainly yellow I think.
It is about a young twentysomething woman who has no job and is a bit aimless and gets a job at a amagazine interviewing successful women and writing about them for the magazine.
I believe it came out less than ten years ago but closer to five.

Set in the U.S. or somewhere else? Was the cover a photo, or illustration or cartoony style (like a lot of chick lit seems to be)?

I believe it was set in the US. And it was actually more realistic looking, not at all cartoony. I think it was a photo or illustration.
