I'm having a difficult time not joining this read too. I'm so overbooked, but it sitting there available and ready to read at the library...

Too many books, too little time.

I've had to reel myself in. I was overcommitting.

I need to do the same. I can't possibly get through them all.

That said, I still might read this one lol.

I'm 20% done and liking it to this point. For part one I liked Hope's storyline a lot more than Red. But part two so far they're equal.

Through chapter 15. I really like the world and characters. Good villains and flawed protagonists.

That's what my Chapter 15 spoiler was about. It was cringeworthy.

Tammie | 3989 comments I'm starting this tonight. I hope whatever was cringeworthy wasn't too bad. I don't know if I can handle it.

Tammie | 3989 comments Well Bleak Hope was aptly named.

I'm done. I absolutely love this book. So gritty. I probably don't read as much steampunk as I should and this wrong side of the tracks tale was great.

LOL, yes.

Tammie | 3989 comments I'm enjoying this so far. The crude language is something I am not used to, but that's the only drawback for me so far.

I found some of the crude language hysterical in the context it was given.

Yes some of it is.

Solseit | 1460 comments Oh my, I am so late compared to all of you but I genuinely am loving this book.
It is "simple", it uses boiled concepts, it has a pirate-y feeling to it. Yet, it is a perfect balance of everything! I am up to Chapter 24.

I'm glad you're loving it as much as I did. I think dark is overstating it. It just feels gritty which is different than most fantasy.
