Wondered if anyone had read a book called fences. Movie was out in 2016 with denzil washington. Good movie.

Yes, I read Fences. I too, am a fairly new member of Goodreads. I enjoyed the book because the author was able to write the story so well that I could see the way people were treated back in the fifties. I could understand the struggle black men endured. The movie followed the same story line as the book. Both were great!

I definitely enjoyed this one! The movie was great, Viola Davis is always a great actress! I remember reading this for my English class but I enjoyed the different allusions and how strong Rose was.
