As you think back on the supporting characters (Julian and Winifred; Helena and Rocky; Allegra Gray; Dora and William; Everard Bone; and Everard's elderly mother who is obsessed with the suppression of woodworm), did you have a favorite? Did any seem particularly real or particularly absurd?

I really liked Rocky, Everard Bond, Helena, Allegra and of course Mildred. They were my favorites.

Ayse_ (ashlie_k) To me they all look like ordinary people one can encounter any time..

Darlene I enjoyed all of the supplemental characters. Like Ayse said, they were ordinary people and I think that helped Mildred's day to day support and love and care of these people shine through as it was a somewhat routine, quiet life Mildred lived.
