How do you feel about books with multiple main characters?

Some of the most popular books are written with one main character, but what about Pretty Little Liars, and books like it, that have multiple main characters? Do these books leave you feeling less connected to the characters, or do you feel more connected having been involved in so many different relationships/friendships?

It depends on the writing. If the author is good at writing from different perspectives and it makes me look forward to each character then I really like it, but if it is difficult to remember what the last character was up to then it makes me want to quit the book right away. With PLL I really like the different POV's because each of the girls have their own "life" and they have different personalities and how they are. I'll go with that I like books with multiple main characters :)
