Chinese New Year is coming up on January 28th, so I thought we'd celebrate with a challenge based on the animals of the Chinese Zodiac.

Choose your level and complete the required number of tasks for each animal.

Levels:

Level 1: 1-2 tasks per animal
Level 2: 3-4 tasks per animal
Level 3: 5 tasks per animal

Duration: 1 year from your start date

YEAR OF THE RAT

The rat is the first of the Chinese zodiac signs. It is an animal with spirit, wit, alertness, delicacy, flexibility and vitality.

PERSONALITY - People born in the Year of Rat are instinctive, acute and alert in nature which makes them brilliant businessmen. They are sophisticated and popular in social interaction. They are optimistic and very adaptable, being popular with others.

People often use the Ox to indicate something big in size or number. Oxen used to be capable farming tools in agricultural society, which symbolises the traits of diligence, persistence and honesty. People born in the Year of the Ox are sometimes tardy in action, but industrious and cautious. They are conservative and hold their faith firmly.

For Chinese people, the rabbit is a tame creature representing hope. The moon goddess Chang'e in Chinese legend had a rabbit as her pet, which stimulated the thought that only this creature was amiable enough to match her noble beauty. People with the Rabbit as their Chinese zodiac sign are not aggressive but approachable. They have a decent, noble and elegant manner.

PERSONALITY - People born in the Year of Rabbit usually impress others with an image of tenderness, grace and sensitivity. They are romantic in relationships. They avoid arguing with others, and have a capability of converting an enemy into a friend. They are homebodies and hospitable, and like decorating their house. The Horse's fixed element is Fire (Huo), which symbolises enthusiasm and energy. The animal gives people an impression of independence and integrity. Its spirit is recognised to be the Chinese people's ethos - making unremitting efforts to improve themselves with passion and diligence.
