However, I will delve into The Inheritance of Loss, thus freeing 2.2cm off my TBR shelf (the .2 is dust). I will discover Dom Casmurro, but shall leave the Nervous Conditions aside as I have dealt with them before. I will also start this Chinese Game of Thrones that is the Three Kingdoms, as well as dealing with the second Labour of Hercules, which I shall post in the next few days.
I have Inheritance of Loss so maybe I will get to that this year but not sure that it will actually happen in February. Too many other books to read and I've always struggled to get into that book.
Dom Casmurro is a little hard to locate. If you read Portuguese you can get a kindle for 99 cents. I did find it at MnLinks so ordered it.
I read Nervous Conditions already and it is a great book.
I am reading the Idiot but taking periodic breaks to read other stuff.

As Kristel pointed out, it was challenging to find, and I had to pay $9.99 for the Kindle edition (via Amazon) which seems a little steep when it is available in Portuguese for $0.99. Inheritance of Loss was tempting since the ebook was available through Overdrive . . .but trying to just stick to one book per month so I can read some other books as well!

I found a cheaper English kindle edition of Dom Casmurro. Within a few days you can cancel the purchase and switch to this one.

Thanks!! I will try to do that. Greatly appreciated.

Argh, so when I clicked on the Kindle version, it took me to the Portuguese one. And I returned the other, lol. Hopefully I can get it back!! I do appreciate your efforts to help me. That posting was very misleading . . .

The cheaper English version is bundled with the Portuguese one. But if you display all versions, there should be two visible. One for about 1 dollar which is the Portuguese one and another for about 5 dollars with a bird on the cover whic is in English.
When I go there, the English version with bird shows but to the right it states, Kindle version no longer available. So will stick with the MnLink one I requested.

Also, it looks like I can loan this book to anyone I choose. I've never noticed that before on a Kindle book. So happy to loan it once I've finished it.

Like Pip I am already behind. I am knee deep in 3 books. I will read Patrick's challenge selection, participate in discussion of Nervous as I have already read it and read Dom if I have time. I hope to finish The Idiot in February and a biography of Alexander Hamilton that I am slogging through.

Well, that's a first. Normally it works the other wayaround. I was able to purchase it.
Lucky you, too bad I hadn't tried harder when I got up at 5:30 am but I didn't and so I was too late. It was a great deal.

I'm currently reading The Leopard, so I will try to read the next labour as well. I'm still waiting on The three kingdoms, book 1, but as soon as it gets here I'll give it a try.

hmm, I have already read Nervous Conditions and not all that excited about Inheritance of Loss. My primary goal is to make my way through Infinite Jest so I can write the discussion questions after having read the book.
I also just got the annual read in the mail so I will be starting that. Then time permitting, I'll try to get to Dom Casmurro. I just read Brothers K so will probably delay the Idiot to next "season" when others are reading Infinite Jest

No I voted for it and the reason it made it in the randomizer. I will be reading it later this year so glad to hear it is good.
