Greyman | 33 comments Sometimes we wish for books to be made into movies, because seeing it on screen would be (potentially) awesome, but have you ever seen a movie and thought "I wish it was a book!"?

Rosa (rosaiglarsh) | 5113 comments I haven't yet seen it, but I wish Guess Who's Coming to Dinner? was a play, because then I could just read it. Some critics make it sound like an uncomfortable movie, and reading plays is often more satisfying than watching movies, because then you can interpret the words yourself. Of course, if you've puzzled and puzzled over just what a line means or how it should be delivered, then watching a film can give you an idea.

Greyman | 33 comments I completely agree. Also, in my opinion books are often richer in story. You don't have to cut away scenes to meet a certain time criteria for example. I often say that if the movie is based on a book then the book is probably even better (especially if the movie wasn't that good haha).

Deanne Devine | 156 comments Oooh, so many!
I agree with Tomina on Firefly and Romancing the Stone. Then there are:
Donnie Darko
The Royal Tenenbaums
The Life Aquatic
Home for the Holidays (the Holly Hunter film)
This could be a long list - I better stop here!

Ceilidh (suitcasedragon) | 61 comments Kubo and the Two Strings--I haven't finished watching, but it already seems like it would be a good book!

Gerd | 223 comments Can't think of a movie right away (or does that I can actually did start out as books) - but a game I'd wish they turned into a book (preferrably at the hands of a good writer):
"The Last of Us"
