Anyone start reading this yet? I'm on chapter 5 and enjoying it so far. Although it hits very close to home for me.

message 2: by Tom (new) - rated it 4 stars

Tom | 263 comments As we discussed a bit last night, reading challenging books is a good thing. It allows the topic to be introduced in a non-threatening way, so that the reader can ponder what it means to him/her. I think such was the case here, and is why I gave the book 4 stars. Greenwood treads the fine line between the two camps ((view spoiler)) and lets the reader come to their own conclusions.

There are other books which are challenging reading because the act of reading and digesting their contents takes some work. The Sound and the Fury, Ulysses and In Search of Lost Time. In fact, when Faulkner finished writing TSaTF, he said he then learned how to read. I think books like this should have a place at the table as well.
That isn't to say I don't love my Discworld and Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy books. I'm just saying that a mix is probably best.
