March's Book of the Month - Book Chosen!

@Beth: I cannot tell if this book has been Buddy Read or Read in the past.
The rotating monthly challenges. Right now we're doing the "clean your shelves" one (January), but I believe March's challenge will be a keyword one, and if I read the list of keywords correctly, "Irish" is one of them.

if that works. I noticed it was a buddy read a couple years ago, so will it work as a group read?"
Yes! I think it's okay to do so because the group read is done by vote, and of course, buddy reads are by member choice as well. :)

Great :))

If it does not get selected, I would be interested in a Buddy read with you. This is on my TBR for this year. :)
Sounds great, Kalena. Would March still work for you? I think it would fit in with that month's challenge.
Hi, everyone! March's Group Read will be...
The Painter's Daughter by Julie Klassen
The Group Buddy Read will be...
The Icecutter's Daughter by Tracie Peterson
Am I the only one that finds it humorous that both titles have "Daughter" in them, haha!

Beth, that is so cool. Maybe everyone had "daughter" on the mind while voting?
I think I have both of those, but I'm not sure yet if I'll have time to get to them in March. I'll try.

I will be reading and leading the discussion for The Painter's Daughter, but I probably won't get to the buddy read. I do have it on Kindle, but I just don't think I'll have time to squeeze it in.

Agree!

Yes! It's high time I read it, since I pre-ordered it and still haven't read it! :p

But Julies is too expensive :(
Can someone please explain the difference between the Group Read and the Buddy Read?

Feel free to match your nomination with March's Monthly Challenge, but it's not required to do that in order to nominate (March- Keyword- Books that have these words in their title- Green, Irish(Ireland), Gold, Emerald, Rainbow, Bonus- Shamrock)
If you have never nominated before, please look at the full guidelines: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...!
PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group, especially not one we've done in the last 2 - 3 years. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books....
-Remember that a book must be out for 6 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting
-Try not to nominate an author that we've read that year already
-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.
-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decision. Thank you for your understanding! :)
Nominations will be open through the 15th (or so, since I'm late posting) of the month, then for the remainder of the month, the voting poll will be open.
