Have you read her series about Alaska's royalty? If the USA never bought Alaska, and then Alaska revolted against Russia and set up as it's own country. That one's fun.

As usual, I really enjoyed this installment in the Dresden Files series. It moved quickly, and there was never really a dull moment honestly. While there was still plenty of serious stuff going on, there were also moments that had me chuckling to myself. I continue to love all the side characters and am looking forward to reading the next one!
Not my best review ever, but pregnancy brain was really hitting me hard this time lol. I couldn't think of anything to write!
I've heard that the Dresden audios are really good. The guy who played Spike in Buffy reads them. If I ever re-read them I'll probably listen. I don't really do audios, but I'm interested in those. We're on fire! All caught up and ready for tomorrow.
CONGRATULATIONS, Read Til You Drop! You now have an updated BINGO card with a stamp on 'vampires'.
[Your updated BINGO card can be viewed on page 1]
Good Job!! :D
I've been wanting to try the Dresden audios. I was a huge Spike fan when Buffy was on, and I hear he does a great job as the narrator!
My options from my upcoming books:
I'll probably go with Scarlet, as it was published on 2/14 and I need that this month for Perks Uno.
Anyone else playing that one?
I'm going with
for MYTHOLOGY , it's on my Clean Sweep board this week too!@Laura~ I'm playing UNO Too! Luckily someone else picked a 2/14 book. I'm having trouble finding books published in Feb on our Valentine's shelves. I've read more James Patterson this week that I have ever ! LOL
Going with a re-read for this one:
. I realized recently that it's been so long since I read this series that I need to start over before picking up where I left off lol.
Trinia, that one's been on my TBR for awhile. Since I'm the captain and no one else stepped up I felt it was my job.Our Valentine is Team Becky Bloomwood. I've never seen a group of people I had fewer books in common with!
Vilda, I know we're short on replacement players, if you're interested.
Laura- that's funny ! I felt the same way about our Valentine team :) I'm on BonesVilda- it's a fun challenge ! Pretty flexible, with mini challenges added on. It's my first time playing , so I'm learning as we I go!

I really enjoyed this book. It was vividly written, drawing you into the world of Alina and Mal quickly from the beginning. I really liked the idea of The Grisha with their special talents. The book moved along quickly spinning it's story and romance without getting mushy or sexual. Truly a good storyline yet creatively written to make you feel like you could picture it. A little bit of a Cinderella story set in the future.
Pro's : Creative, set apart from other dystopian fantasy novels. good, realistic romance story.
Con's: Cliffhanger... #1 in a series of 3. Sometimes I just like to read a standalone. But evidently the author has more up her sleeve !
Definitely would recommend this to any fantasy lover.

Review: As far as Robin Hood goes, most of what I know comes from Disney and Errol Flynn (and a few seasons of BBC). Even so, I came to this thinking I knew most of what was to be known about Robin Hood. This book is nothing like any of those. It is a refreshing take on Robin Hood. I'm sure that it bears little resemblance to the original tales, but several hundred years leave a lot of time for things to get changed. I will definitely continue this series.

Life will certainly not be boring lol."You haven't been around much, so I was just wondering how you're feeling? I know by about 32 weeks I was always asking the doctor how soon we could induce! :)
OH Gee! Good point Laura, Steph Ann ... How are you doing? And, how do you do it all!?! with your little crew at home. I wanted to give a heads up to everyone that I'll be out of touch starting Thursday 2nd thru Monday the 13th. I'm going to Europe with my 15 yr old twins and a group from school. We will be non-stop and won't have good access to wifi. I will hopefully be able to check in once or twice, but don't worry if you don't hear from me! i'll be trying to keep up with my books ;D
Luckily , it doesn't look like anyone is close to winning in the next 2 weeks ;)

And if you're leaving on Thursday, you'll at least be able to select a book from Wednesday shelf call. :)

Yes! for sure ;) I think I'll be able to at least check in the following Wednesday too. I'm really hoping to have some reading time... each time we travel it's at night :( so we should be sleeping. Makes me think of Planes, Trains and Automobiles with John Candy ! LOL!
Minimum amount of shelf calls is 11 so no worries on anyone winning in the next 2 weeks Trinia. Enjoy the trip, sounds hectic and wonderful.

I'm doing ok, all things considered lol. Thanks for asking! I'm definitely at the point that I'm just ready to not be pregnant anymore even though the thought of 3 under 3 gives me panic attacks lol. It's just so hard to chase after two toddlers when you're in your third trimester with all the aches and pains you get. Looking forward to having room on my lap again for when one of the kids wants to sit there cuz right now it's really uncomfortable lol.I will say this challenge is helping me keep my sanity! It's so nice to just sit and read once the boys are in bed. I just tend to forget to actually get online and post my reviews or chat lol.
I'm also at the point where I'm constantly wondering when the baby's going to come lol. I'll be 35 weeks tomorrow. Baby #1 came on his due date, and Baby #2 came at 38 weeks, so I have no idea what to expect this time around!

This was just as entertaining as the first time that I read it. And since it had been a while since that first time, all of the jokes were funny to me again. One reason I had taken a break from the series was that the jokes started feeling stale/forced, but rereading this first book reminded me why I liked this series. I just love Charley!
The one thing that hasn't changed for me so far is that I am just not a huge Reyes fan. I much prefer Garrett. The connection between Reyes and Charley just feels forced to me, like the reader is just supposed to accept it rather than actually experience it, if that makes sense. Maybe my opinion will change as my rereads continue. Looking forward to rereading the next one!
My possibilities:
- I need this 2 weeks ago!
- Due at the library Tuesday, no renewals!I'll let you know when I figure out what to do!
I'm picking
, it's on audiobook so I might actually get it finished tomorrow before departure! I'll try to pop in while I'm away when I get wifi. Have a great week all!!!
I would like to thank the one person who shelved
as futuristic, so I can continue my re-read of this series. It's all I feel like reading at the moment lol.

I'm going to go with Homeworld for this one. It fits several other challenges. I'm finishing up Marked in Flesh today, then I need to read one more for another challenge, so I should get to it on Sunday.
Vilda it looks like we will be passing each other in London... we are leaving this afternoon to Paris. Pack your umbrella!

This is really when the series started taking off for me when I first read it and the first time I really felt like I absolutely had to read the next book right away. Even with this time around being a re-read, I was still on the edge of my seat at certain scenes, completely wrapped up in what was happening. For me, that's the mark of a really great series. Looking forward to continuing my re-reads!
Baby Watch 2017: Had my now weekly doctor's appointment this morning and got the typical "We'll see you next week...or maybe sooner." Baby better wait til shelf call tomorrow so I can have something loaded on my Kindle lol.
Vilda wrote: "Hhahaha, awww! Hope it'll time it. ;) How exciting that it's getting so close!"Exciting/terrifying lol. I'm a little worried how my 2 1/2 year old is going to handle the new addition. He's going through a major mommy phase right now, not wanting his younger brother anywhere near me, saying things like, "My mommy" or "Leave mommy alone." It's definitely going to affect him differently than when my second one was born!

Review: This series just gets better and better. I love a good space battle, and in Evan Currie it's like I found David Weber with a really good editor. All the space battle, with less of the technical details, and not quite so much politics. Don't get me wrong, no one writes better space battles than Weber, but Currie comes as close as anyone else, except maybe Timothy Zahn when he's writing Grand Admiral Thrawn! In this book, (view spoiler) It ends on a bit of a cliffhanger, so I'll be reading the next one soon! Thank goodness for Kindle Unlimited!["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
I hope Etched in Bone doesn't work for tomorrow's call. Because I'm getting ready to curl up in bed with Meg & Simon! :)
