BINGO R14 | Discussion Thread
Gotta admit I usually have my vodka mixed with orange juice. I can slam em down quicker that way, and have been known to do that :D

That's okay. You guys will be so drunk I will be able to read all the books and get bingo before your hangover clears up.
Sorry to jump a few days late in the discussion of the In Death series, I checked my local library and they have the audiobooks....on CD. I read the first one years ago (and don't remember what it was about) and maybe I could start it again. Only......would you say it aged well?
Some series, and I'm not naming any, do not take kindly to the passage of time. I tried to get a friend to pick up a series I liked and the first few books in the series were a bit cheesy peppered with pop culture references that did turn her off.
Would you say that since it's a futuristic/ sci-fi world...it's less likely to show it's age aside from writing style, proper grammar and editing? (Sorry I've been reading too many books with typo errors lately. I do admire writers because I can't formulate a few paragraphs review let alone write a book).
I think because it is set in the future, it ages very well. We still don't have some of the technology that is mentioned (though I'd like to have some of it).
I'd love some of the technology from In Death. I agree with Sam, I think you wouldn't have any problems Val, and typically you won't find any typos either.
You guys are evil you are making it hard for me to resist i looked at my library and it has it free on audio through an app i can get on my phone aghhhh. *grumbles* I might have to listen to it.

That is a beautiful cover. I can't believe that series is coming to an end. It was one of my first introductions to PNR and UF.
I need to go back to that series. The last one I read was the last one with the first main character. Now I'm wondering if I waited too long and won't be able to follow without rereading the series from the start.
2 Questions concerning qualifying books:1- Do we need to provide the number for the book from the linked list - ie do you need it to verify qualification?
2- From the specific book page - on the list of top shelves 'angels' is in column 1 - however the book is older and only has 59 ratings and 1 user listed for that tag - the last 25 pages of the designated linked list we are to use lists books with 1 user, however my book did not make it within the 100 pages listed - can I use this book by referring to column location from the book page?
I am trying to make a list of books covering each square, so when I am on vacation during part of the game I have the books with me that might be called (preferably ones on my kindle) - I have few designated angels and none on my kindle.
Sorry to ask so many questions, but I need to find qualifying books for vacationFor list 'Series Finished' almost 80% of the books are #1 in a series. Can I just read any #1 on the list or do I need to find one on the list that is actually the last in the series?
I think they trust that people will play honestly and we've never had to prove a book was on the list before. So I wouldn't worry too much about that as long as you know that shelf was on the book's shelf list when you looked.
I got all excited to see the thread for shelf announcements, only to open it and see nothing new. *sigh*

All other shelves posted have a link and the exact book you choose to read must be on the linked shelf.
If the shelf doesn't have the book you want to read but it is does have others in the series, so sad, but you can't read that book.

Linda, as long as the book is on the listed shelf then it is good to go. Whether its a vampire book on the angel shelf doesn't matter. Some people only like to read angel books for the angel shelf but it isn't necessary.
The only criteria is that the book is at least 200 pages and it is on the listed shelf.
As to all those other Qs - nope, you don't need to qualify any books, just post your review in the required format. (See previous bingo rounds)
The Ninjas will check any books that look doubtful and that includes page numbers.

In exactly 4 hrs and 30 minutes, 18th ends here and 19 officially starts.
Sorry Kathleen, I've gotta go to bed & get up then post the shelf. So it'll be just over 8.5 hrs from now. (The 18th only has about an hour left here. LOL)
Mary: Harry Dresden's Love Slave wrote: "What!!!! Another 7 hours to wait!!!"I figure from your username you are not much of a Dresden fan. Yup, not much. ;) I've only listened to the 1st book in the series.
