In a bookstore. When i first saw this book i knew exactly that i like, and this is sooo my genre book :) But didnt knew, that this book will be under my skin, and in my heart :) :)Its much better than i thought. Its perfect!! :):)
I found this book in my college library while waiting for my boyfriend a few weeks ago and I read the first 100 pages and couldn't stop reading. I checked out the book and finished it in two days!!!!! I got the second book for Christmas and it was amazing! Can't wait for book 3. :)
Hey, I'm new! Yay! I discovered An Ember in the Ashes with my sister's help. She was helping me get some books together for the 2017 50 books by 50 women of color challenge. Almost done with book two and I can say I don't regret picking up the first one. Worth the read!
In my school we have this thing called reading Olympics. I joined, and “An ember in the ashes” was one of the titles we had to read. Once I read it, I fell in love with it. Like honestly, this book is amazing.
I heard about Sabaa Tahir and as soon as I found out she was a NYT bestselling author and also Pakistani, Muslim and brown (like me) I wanted to support her in any way I could. So I bought the first book without knowing anything about it and fell in love with it.
My 6th grade English teacher brought my the first book, and within a week I was demanding the second from her. I have read all of them now, and I love the series.
This is a great series, if anyone would like to be a moderator and lead the group, Im happy to give you access. Let me know, I'm not on here much and don't want to be a bottleneck.

My experience is unique, i bought the book at my bookstore. It was wrapped up and called a BLIND DATE... you buy the books wrapped up with hints about the story, genera and some other basic clues written on the outside wrapping. I bought it and no idea what the book was other than some hints that it was in the ballpark of my tastes... and well...... I really enjoyed the story and characters.
