I see Tim just published his 2017 challenge. Hopefully we'll get a group going for that, I do plan to be more active. I'm in grad school so I'll probably stick to "light reader" for this year.

I'd rather we keep using this group. I think the name of the group used to have 2016 I front of it, but the name no longer includes a year. So, there's no need to have a different group for the next challenge. The moderator here can add a tracker and links for the 2017 challenge, and I can copy the checklist from the new group and paste it here. New discussion folders can also be set up. If we use the same group, we can look at other members' lists from 2016 to get book ideas without having to look in a different group.

After looking over this year's list of book categories I see some are missing from last year (music, poetry, Pulitzer, etc) that I was planning to do this year. I'm making a list of these "missing" categories this year to help me figure out the "book of your choice" categories. One thing this challenge has done for me is to stretch me with so many different topics that I'd never think of let alone explore. I'm focusing on the Reformation and Luther this year!
Jane, I hope you consider joining my Reformation Reading Challenge: http://operationreadbible.blogspot.co...
Fell of greatly this year due to heavy duty work related reading. Looking to really take up 2017's challenge.
I liked the diversity of last years list as well.. i am not reading "in order " so the duplication of topics in each category is not particularly useful .. enjoy seeing other people's choices tho..
Anyone else having trouble with the tracker? On my shelf "2017vt challenge" I have 22 books. All with dates read added. But the tracker varies between "0 books read for this challenge" and "3 books read for this challenge" depending on the page load.
