Also I almost cried when that "thing" happened to Chubs {yeah I can't even say it, sue me}. And okay I see why she did what she did to Lee, but really girl?!? Why?!?! {yeah I could rant on and on about this but I'll save you the pain of reading it}. I am totally going to read book two, when my heart can take it... and when I don't feel like throwing it out the window. {and I'm ranting again...} To end this, I really liked it. I think they're all idiots but hey, I liked the book. (hide spoiler)]

I can understand the fear of an ability like Ruby's, but still putting kids in concentration-type camps will do nothing except build up resentment that will cause an uprising

I think what I like about this story is the way that Liam and Ruby's feelings for each other is very subtly implied. We know they like each other but it is so shy and very like lets be friends first which is so pleasant.

Also, I am thinking about the movie and how they had Amandla play Ruby, and I know folks are not always fans of race-swapping, but while I am reading this story, it feels right that Ruby is black. Though I don't picture her as light-skinned like Amandla, she is more of a darker complexion in my mind

there is, but I remember way back when I first read this book, I watched the movie, and I wouldn't say I liked it. I'll have to rewatch it to see if I feel the same

Did you want to read the novellas and the the second book?

I am keen for the novellas and second book but probably can't until September so understand if you don't want to wait. I am 36% with ths book, I have switched to phycial instead of audio as I feel like I kept zoning out

Thats totally ok. I may be putting this series off until September because I am going strong with the Gone series by Michael Grant. and I already have all of those books. Just let me know when you want to start up with the novellas and the novels and we can go from there
