"I.....vaguely recall," he said, squinting his eyes as he tried to remember. He'd broken something around then, hadn't he? He could blame it on the pain or preoccupation then. "You're probably right."

“I’m most definitely right.” She replied, satisfied as she looked back at her phone. “So, what did you think about her?” She asked, since she liked that he knew someone that was so important to her.

"I like her. She's really nice. And she does good work," he said, holding up an appendage with one of her bandages on it. "Why don't you ever bring her around or anything?" But he knew the answer. Everleigh was just....a different level of...not rebellious?

“Because she’s very…. Conservative.” She said, shrugging a shoulder because she didn’t want to consider other ways to describe her.

"I guess," he said and shrugged. It wasn't the word he would have used but she knew her sister better. "Still she's not bad company. I was too grumpy to her this morning."

“This morning?” She asked, but then pieced everything he had said together. “Wait, she was the one to help you today? And it wasn’t in the hospital?”

"No, she came here and helped," Rowan said, clearly not thinking it was a big deal. "I didn't want to go and have my injuries known to my uncle. And she didn't seem to mind." He figured since he was going to buy her lunch or something it would be a good tradeoff.

“Huh.” She replied, dropping her phone to her stomach and shifting so that her head was laying on his pillow and she was looking at the ceiling. She didn’t like thinking that there was a reason as to why Everleigh was so attentive but…

"Is she older than you?" He asked, turning to look at her better. It made his back ache a little, but was that from the fight? He knew they were twins because....well somebody told him, but it would still be funny if Everleigh was older.

“For, like, ten minutes.” She replied, making a noise that showed how little she liked that little fact. She always felt more like the protective twin from the both of them, since Everleigh was just so quiet and kept to herself.

He laughed a little, both for her little sound of annoyance and for what he was thinking about. "It's just funny. Both of our older sisters are medical whatever. It's just a weird thing."

“As if we needed more things to have in common.” She replied, chuckling a little. “We’re both the trouble makers in our family and also the most attractive. But you might be dethroned soon.”

"I know. If I keep getting my face screwed up someone is going to get better looking than me without much trouble," he said with a heavy, dramatic sigh.

“If you don’t stop getting it screwed over, both your brothers will.” She replied, chuckling a little. She had seen them around a few times- hard to miss with the hair and all- and thought they was adorable. Funny how she thought that of every pair of twins she saw.

"I dont know. My little sister is kinda pretty," Rowan said and shrugged. Really his whole family possessed the unnatural vampire beauty but he understood her point. He chuckled a little. "It's hard when you've got so many people to compete with."

“I don’t think I’ve seen her.” She admitted, turning to look at him when he mentioned his family. “Yeah, we’ll, you’re lucky. The only other sibling I have has my exact face.” She said, sighing because she would have liked having a big family. Or at least one that was close.

He shrugged, not offering to let Raelynn meet her. She was...better than most of their other friends, but letting any of his family see what he'd become at all was something he didn't want to get close to. "Yeah, I guess. Having a lot of siblings is a blessing and a curse."

“More of a blessing, I’m sure.” She replied, but then smacked his stomach again. She was pretty sure he wasn’t in pain anymore, but she also knew he needed to rest. “Is it fine if I nap here for a while? My roommate is in there with her witchy friends and I don’t want to wake up looking like a frog.”

He grunted when she hit his stomach, but he didn't hurt that badly. "Yeah, it's fine. I'm napping too though so either you share the bed or you're on the floor," he told her as he started to settle in. He didn't mind her staying at all, and he also didn't want her to be a frog.

“You wouldn’t actually let me sleep on the floor.” She said, chuckling a little as she placed her phone on his drawer and settled in as well, yawning even if she wasn’t very tired in the first place. She stayed on her back, since facing way would feel weird and facing him would be uncomfortable.

"I would too if you started pushing me off," he said with a small laugh. He shifted again after, draping his more injured arm over his stomach. He wasn't uncomfortable at all, and he didn't assume she was either because she offered to be here.

“We’ll see.” She replied, chuckling a little bit as she closed her eyes. It didn’t take long before sleep took over, since she had gone to bed very late and woke up pretty early too.

It didn't take long for Rowan to fall asleep either. He'd gotten very little sleep the night before and then his nap had been interrupted when she came. He needed the sleep to heal, and his body was going to take it.

It wasn’t until it much later- an hour or two, maybe- that Raelynn was woken up by a low ringing. She didn’t realize at first that she was facing Rowan, his already healed arms draped across her body. But she was comfortable- too comfortable, seeing as her head was laying on the spot between his shoulder and chest, her own arm around his waist.

Rowan usually didn't move around a whole lot in his sleep, but with all the healing he'd been apparently uncomfortable and ended up moving a lot. But he'd apparently settled a good while ago because when a too sharp and loud ringing began to disturb him from sleep, his whole body again felt stiff, like he'd been in one position too long.

Raelynn slowly pulled her head away from his chest, at this point the alarm she had put on her phone going on snooze since it was obvious she wouldn't stop it. Her eyes took in how peaceful Rowan looked, the stress lines that were usually across his forehead smoothed out. she couldn't keep herself from reaching her hand out, careful not to disturb him, and gently pulled some hair away from his face.

Rowan groaned from the disturbance of her movement. He didn't want to wake but there was so many persistent things that wanted him to get up. Reluctantly his eyes opened, luckily before he swatted at whatever was tickling his face. "Why are you up?" he grumbled and shut his eyes again. "It hasn't been long enough."

"The alarm woke me up." She said, chuckling a little bit because he already wasn't very well with waking up. She usually wasn't either, but she was in a good mood right now.

"It's an awful sound. You should change it," he mumbled. The sound which was a nice ringing to her was piercing to him. Especially with it next to his head on the nightstand.

"I doubt any sound would be to your liking." She told him, getting comfortable on his arm again as she just stared at him, taking in whatever his usual expression usually hid. Like birthmarks or different colored eyelashes. She had never thought about it before, but were they green or black? Blonde?

It began to register when she put her head down that he was holding her. How exactly that had happened he wasn't awake enough to figure out. And he was much too tired to move from it. "That's not true. I wouldn't mind a calm quiet lullaby."

Raelynn didn't say anything for a moment before she started to sing, her voice low and soothing. She wasn't used to singing slow music like this, much less without rehearsing or whatever, but this was a song she sang to herself every once in a while since she was a kid. Ever since she had snuck into a house with a family inside and heard a mother singing it for her baby with so much love that it brought her to tears, since she had just been kicked out of her house for breaking a glass or something. Love like that was something she had only ever witnessed once, and it wasn't even directed at her. But at least she got a sick lullaby out of it.

At first her soft voice startled him. He'd never heard her sing like this before. But it put him at ease. It was so...calming. Lullabies were not something he'd grown up with but he could already see the appeal. It was...making him calm enough to sleep again if he wished.

Once she was finished, she pulled her head back to look at him again. "Rowan?" She asked, a little afraid of what she was going to ask him. A little embarrassed, really.

"Yeah?" He barely more than grunted, so close to sleep that he didn't want to break. Why she was talking again he couldn't figure out.

"Your, um... leg is on top of mine and my leg fell asleep." She said, opting for the safe answer. Her other question would likely end in a conversation she didn't want to have. "It's starting to gain feeling again but for the love of God don't move because itll hurt like a bitch."

"Oh, I'm sorry," he said, feeling bad, but he didn't move like she asked. He had to breathe a laugh because it was kind of funny. And not at all what he expected her to say.

"Its okay, really." She said, and hoped she was lying about the leg thing but now that she wasn't admiring him or whatever, it really had begun to numb up. She couldn't help but to breath out a laugh too, which ended up with her shifting closer to him when it disturbed her leg. "Crap, that hurts."

He had to laugh. "Stop moving around already and it'll stop. Are you sure you don't want me to move?" He knew the flash of pain she meant but it would be better now than in the long term, right?"

“Stop laughing! You’re making me laugh too.” She said, laughing even when it was hurting her leg. “Don’t you dare.” She told him, still grinning when she pulled her head back to look at him.

"You should just get it over with. It's going to hurt either way," he pointed out, laughing. Even though he initially didn't want to be, he was quite awake now because she was being so silly about it.

“Fine, but just know I’ll do the same whenever it happens to you.” she said, bracing herself because he was right and it was better for them to just… get on with it.

"It's a deal," he said, chuckling. He carefully moved his leg off hers, slowly but it was still like ripping off a bandage because of her situation.

Raelynn didn’t get to reply before she groaned, unable to keep herself from burying her face between his neck and shoulder. “I don’t know why I listened to you.”

He chuckled, thinking it more funny than anything. "Yeah yeah. You'll be happy you did soon enough." Once she got the full feeling back in her leg and all the tingling was gone.

She only snorted before she began to wiggle her foot on her own, this a little less painful than what it was at first. Soon enough, she was able to lift her leg as move it around without being in pain.

An amused smile spread across his face as he watched the pain ease from her face. "See? I was right, wasn't I." He tried not to laugh at her but it was funny.

“What, do you want me to kiss your feet or something?” She asked, laughing a little bit she tilted her head to side to look at him as well.

"No, but a thank you would be nice. With as much drama as you feel necessary," he replied, grinning still..

“Oh, thank thy hero Rowan for giving me sharp pain from something you also caused with thy heavy leg!” She replied, in her most dramatic voice as she pressed a hand to her heart. “I’ll name my first born son, or daughter, after you. Would that be enough?”
