Lena (nlgmcr69) | 81 comments I started reading this over the weekend. Hope to get it finished within the next week to join in on any discussion.

Sarah | 728 comments Still finishing up Good Omens before I get to the November reads, but I have both books ready to dive into! FYI, if you have a Nook I got Peter Pan on there for 99 cents!

aPriL does feral sometimes (cheshirescratch) | 695 comments Started the book today! I never read this before, but of course I saw the cartoon movie. So far, it is way different than anything I expected to read! I was expecting a little kid's picture book, or something.

Melanie I started earlier in the week. Although I am very familiar with this world (movie adaptions, retellings, and the like), I have actually NEVER read the book!

I think what struck me most is how very kid oriented it is. Some kids books, especially in a modern sense, aren't geared only for kids...but this definitely is. The non-sensical side stories and silliness of the parents, even the breaking of the 4th wall narration are all a testament to this. It is quite a juxtaposition from The Handmaid's Tale, and all its dark and gloom.

So far, it is lovely, but not deep.
