Marina Lovechild | 124 comments Hi all! I've been getting into the trenches of podcasts, but I'm running out! Do you have any podcasts that has to do with our favorite topic? (Romance, if you didn't get the memo ;) )

The one I'm currently listening to is: http://howdoyouwrite.libsyn.com/podcast

It's not romance per se, but the host (Rachael Herron) is a romance writer. She also holds another podcast that digs deeper into romance which I really loved: http://thebusinessofwritinginromance....

Looking forward to your links!

(...and sorry if I didn't find the right folder for this topic!)

Nicole Locker | 183 comments I haven't either, but I've seen the topic pop up more and more lately. Maybe I should look into it.

Aislinn | 123 comments Smart Bitches, Trashy Books has a great romance podcast if you haven't listened to that yet. It covers all topics of romance, but I find that there are some very informative gems in there about how to write and the business of romance.

If you want a more general writing podcast, Scriptnotes is amazing. It's mostly focused on screenwriting, but everything they say about the craft of writing also applies to books. I've learned a heap listening to them over the years.

And for fun, have you listened to My Dad Wrote A Porno, yet? It's hilarious. A guy found out that his dad wrote an erotic novel, and each week he and his friends read aloud a chapter and deconstruct it. It's very affectionate, and not mocking at all, which is what makes it so enjoyable.

I haven't heard of more romance specific ones. Maybe there is a gap in the market...

Mary Ellen Woods (maryellen_woods) | 163 comments Smart Bitches is, in my opinion, the best romance site out there. Tons of good content more geared to the reader but some for the writer too. Has anyone advertised on the site before? For my upcoming release next month, I've taken out an ad in their books on sale newsletter and a sidebar ad as well as a mobile. So we will see how that works out.

My Dad wrote a Porno is the most hilarious thing I've ever heard. It is a "don't do this". But not in a hurtful way as stated above. The podcast actually increased his dad's sales. It reminds me of those really bad 50s monster movies that you can't stop watching because they are so bad.

Aislinn | 123 comments Hi Mary,

I did an ad on SBTB a few months ago. It didn't do anything for me, but I really hope it works out for you!

And I totally agree with what you've said about My Dad Wrote a Porno. Strangely endearing. :)
