Tin (rabbitin) | 560 comments Hello people of TFG! Meliza and I (TinTin) will be moderating this month's discussion! So here's a question. Is the BOOK better than the MOVIE? Or is the MOVIE better than the BOOK? This November, we shall find out the answer as we read Patricia Highsmith's (aka Claire Morgan) celebrated lesbian novel, The Price of Salt (aka Carol, aka The Price of Salt: OR Carol), and watch Todd Haynes, 2015 lush and elegant movie adaptation entitled Carol.

So join us as we travel back in time to experience love in 1950s New York!

Meliza (mecawish) | 720 comments Hi! This is Tin's co-moderator this month. As usual, the Reading Plan mentioned above is just a guide and you are free to read at your own pace. But we'll be posting questions about the book every week based on the chapters planned on that week.

Also for those who'll buy the book, I found copies at Fully Booked, National Bookstore and Powerbooks (at least here in Ortigas, hehe). We recommend that you watch the movie too. But of course, you can watch first or read first, whichever you prefer.

Bummer talaga! Because in the book, Jace was REALLY HOT! As in, hotness overload! Tapos, Jamie Campbell Bower!!! Even if I'm not that much of a Mortal Instruments fan. Eeeek pa din!

Bennard | 730 comments Aaron and Tin: Great as they may be, they didn't make a coin toss terrifying.

Louize (thepagewalker) | 1830 comments Tin wrote: "Also is book-bella better than movie-bella?"

Book Bella is whiny (esp in book 2), but, at least, she is not unvarying as Bella Movie.

btw...
let us forgive Benny for choosing Bardem as greatest villain, since he won the Academy's Best Supporting Actor for the film. Although, be reminded that he still ranks #1:

Aaron, Bennard, and Louize: I beg to differ.

The greatest villain ever is neither (view spoiler) nor (view spoiler). Surely, the greatest villain in film history is none other than the singular (view spoiler).
