Amy | 8519 comments A cute, easy read! Hiccup has ingenuity, smarts, intelligence, and compassion - but lacks self-esteem, and is plopped in a community that is completely opposite. Against every odd, he fulfills his destiny, saves his community, and realizes something about himself and his tiny dragon. Against every odd, (given the premise) the book was quite engaging and had really neat development.

My eleven year old and I are about to start Harry Potter 3 together, but he said that at some point, he might allow me to order HTTYD 2, and he can read it on his own. So that's a win.

Karin | 7002 comments We have never read this, but the movie is rather cute; my kids all liked it. Perhaps it's better than the book.

Susie | 4488 comments A definite win! My son said to tell him that number one is his least favourite and that they get better and better.
