J.S. Watts | 242 comments I do mean posts (and not stakes!)

On both my writer's FB page and here on my Goodreads blog, I've just started a series of posts recommending books for Halloween.

Yes, I admit, a number will be mine or have work of mine in them, but not all. I therefore thought it might be of interest to this group. Apologies, though, I wasn't sure whether this counts as a News item, or author promotion or what, but hopefully our Mod will put me right if I've strayed in my posting remit.

The first post of the series is here: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

The subject is my novel, A Darker Moon

J.S. Watts | 242 comments Day Five and I'm suggesting something a little bit different: https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

Here's highlighting the poetic, magic realism of "The Calligrapher's Night" - a tale told by a ghost.

J.S. Watts | 242 comments Day Fourteen (the penultimate day): https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

The atmospheric and award winning novella by Stephen Volk, "Whitstable". Horror in the day to day and on the silver screen.

J.S. Watts | 242 comments Day Fifteen (the final post): https://www.goodreads.com/author_blog...

Where else are you going to read about a world that is populated with wizards (who think they know it all) and witches (who may well do so, but have the courtesy and the head-knowing to keep it to themselves), vampires who have taken the abstinence pledge (and a few who haven't), werewolves who are also police officers, politically active zombies and a whole race of Igors who can knock you up a new body in less than a day? It's got to be the Discworld series as created by the late and sorely missed Terry Pratchett.

And on that note, it's a wrap! It's Halloween tomorrow, as I'm typing this, so here's to a darkly festive festivity.
