YA book :: girl who was going to college who changed her name because her father was a murderer; identity gets leaked

So I read a book about 2 years ago about a girl who was going to college who changed her name because her father was a murderer (I think it was murderer) and she ended up meeting a cop who recognized her and knew her from high school. Eventually her real identity gets leaked and everyone freaks out and her cop friend helps her. Any ideas? If it helps I read this on iBooks.
