Maria | 3 comments Hi everyone,

I'm the author of this book:

https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...?

While I'm clearly listed as the author, the book does not show up in title searches, nor does it show up when you search my author name. Can I fix this? If so, how? Or does someone else need to do that?

ETA: I just discovered that it does show up in search, but it's mixed with thousands of books with the word "snow" in them. Is the search engine broken?

Thank you so much!

Maria

lethe | 13747 comments This is not a librarians issue, since it concerns site functionality.

The search function is notoriously bad. Over in the Feedback Group there are many threads complaining about it.

Single-word titles are always difficult, but if you combine it with the author's last name results are much better. Your book shows up in second position: https://www.goodreads.com/search?q=sn...

Evadeen (evadeenbrickwood) | 5 comments Hi,
I saw that I can combine editions of my various books. What exactly is this function and will the latest edition (& cover) show up in the search and on my author page?
Thanks so much
Evadeen

lethe | 13747 comments This function is to combine various editions of the same book (hardcover, paperback, ebook, audiobook, etc.). All your books are already combined correctly.

To make the latest edition the default, follow the instructions in message #4 of the Author FAQ: https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...

Thanks so much, Lethe! I thought it was a librarian's issue because I thought something needed to be added to the entry so that it would show up. I'm glad/not glad to hear it's a site functionality problem.
