I'm thinking about rereading The False Prince because I just got the last two books in the triology not too long ago. Last I read the first book was three or four years ago.

Obviously! Because the book changes as one changes, so you enjoy it in different ways.

Also, I have read books when I was younger even though I could not understand them competely.

Yes! That's true! I download most of my books, but there are so many I want to buy printed to re-read!

I'm gonna start rereading the Hobbit today.

I used to do this every year. :)

Cool!

Dale | 14 comments I'm also a chronic re-reader, but I find that the majority of the books I re-read are the same ones (i.e., I read a book every few years) and they fall into 2 categories: (1) books that I first read during my teen years:
- To Kill a Mockingbird
- A Tree Grows in Brooklyn
- Portrait of the Artist as a Young Man
- Franny and Zooey
or (2) just so ridiculously good/well-written/engaging that you can't not experience it again, and they continue to unfold with each reading:
- Anna Karenina
- Lolita
- The House of Mirth
- The "Gilead" series

Aiden (The Book Scourge) | 83 comments Well...last year, I re-read Harry Potter and The Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. I didn't realize I actually did read Percy Jackson until I gotten to the third book. Don't worry, I like them both, although my feelings for HP have waned... just a little. Now, this year however, I intend to blaze new roads, so to speak by having this year devoted to new experiences! In general, I re-read to see if I still have the same feelings for it as I once did or if I forget entirely what happens.

Kai | 1 comments I feel so bad scrolling down and seeing you guys say that you reread books because I DON"T. I get (and respect) that if you love a book a lot, you'd want to get back to it, but I don't wanna reread an entire journey I went through. Idk, it's just me. I just can't.

Nikki (atnipn) | 2 comments I love rereading books! It brings back memories from the first time I read them years ago, both in my life, and in how I felt about the stories then. I'm a chronic re-reader haha.

message 61: by Aly (new)

Aly I have a book that is pretty old I would reread over and over again. It was called, You can never tell. It was about a young soap opera star going to high school in real life and trying to be a normal teenager. It was a great book but I don't remember who wrote it!

message 62: by meg (new)

meg (excelsiors) | 1 comments yes of course!!! i love falling in love with my favourite books all over again.

message 63: by Priya (new)

Priya Kannan | 1 comments not the whole book ,only parts of it

message 64: by Dima Giantsbane (new)

Dima Giantsbane | 1 comments I've read so many times pride and prejudice! I know it's a little cliche this one, but I can't help it. Each year I read it at least once, I don't know why, but it just makes things right! And I'm glad to see that I'm not the only book lover/maniac who loves to reread multiple times the same book, haha!

exactly.

I usually don't because I have so many other books to read, but I would and have. But usually I have to have read them a long time ago so I don't remember them really well or I can't really stay interested because I know what happens.

message 67: by Sofia (new)

Sofia (sofiianna) | 4 comments I love re reading books it helps understand the book better and find new things that i didn't get the first time I read that is why I love re reading books.

message 68: by Sam (new)

Sam (sam_pam) | 2 comments Only if it’s one of my favorite books. I rarely reread books, but if I wait a few years and forget about a lot of the details so it’s fun to reread and remember why I liked a book so much, or change my mind about liking it.

message 69: by Rynzii (new)

Rynzii (rynzii419) | 9 comments I have before. I re-read the entire Wings of Fire series, and I don't regret ONE SECOND. It helped me understand a lot more about what had happened in the last book, cause I had to wait for a year in between books.

I don't re-read super often, but I do time to time. I watch movies I like NON STOP, so reading a book a few times might happen if I like it enough. I actually just read Ready Player One twice in less than a month since I'm in love with it! The movie already looks to ruin a LOT about it, but I'm excited! haha

message 71: by the.dustyarchive (new)

the.dustyarchive | 2 comments I love to re-read books when I have time. Once I started university I don’t have the time.

When I was younger I would re-read books maybe once a year, and whenever a new book in the series came out. I love finding things I didn’t find the first time reading.

Books I love to re read:
Harry Potter
The Hunger Games
A Song of Ice and Fire
The Kingkiller Chronicles

message 72: by Caitlin (new)

Caitlin | 1 comments I always read books more than once! You find so many new things in a good book if you read it more than once. I especially love to reread books I haven't read in a few years, it's like re-connecting with a friend you haven't seen in a long time. I love to immerse myself into the lives of characters I connected to and will willing do it multiple times.

message 73: by Cordelia (new)

Cordelia (princess_cordelia) | 12 comments Yes I re- read books all the time. I find that I rush thru the book the first time thru because I want to know what happens. I can then re- read the book to actually digest what was happening in the book.

message 74: by Gloria (new)

Gloria (catniponfire) | 8 comments Totally, I re-read all the time! But honestly it has to be something special for me to visit the world again. Thankfully, I have found a lot of special books.

message 75: by Pages of Lucy (new)

Pages of Lucy (pagesoflucy) | 1 comments I also reread books and I think that's good thing to do sometimes because we are changing and growing in life so the same book in the different periods can be also different. :)
I read Women Who Run With the Wolves 2 times and first time I didn't understand it and I didn't like it much. After few years I read it again and I really like it and I found it very powerful.

message 76: by [deleted user] (new)

I usually don't re-read books unless they are really good. I have only re-read one book called Dangerous by Shanon Hale.

message 77: by Cande (new)

Cande (candeviglione) | 20 comments deleted user wrote: "Would anyone reread books they have already read?

I would"

I have reread "The little girl who lived down the lane" a couple of times. Also "After dark" of Murakami. And "The portrait of Dorian Gray".

I hope soon enough to reread "Little Women" when I can buy the full edition. I read it a couple of years ago, but only until the Christmas part because it was an old edition.

message 78: by Talia (new)

Talia | 10 comments Yes I would. I really really want to read The Never-Ending Story again and some Harry Potter books.

message 79: by [deleted user] (new)

I reread some books but, it depends on which books they are and how long it has been since I first read them.

message 80: by Mei (new)

Mei (kmeiycreads) | 1 comments Would definitely reread books! If I really enjoyed them and it’s been awhile since I read it and I’ve forgotten the details and endings, I would totally reread.

message 81: by Talia (new)

Talia | 10 comments I would reread The Neverending Story and other childhood books too.

Barbara Dima Giantsbane wrote: "I've read so many times pride and prejudice! I know it's a little cliche this one, but I can't help it. Each year I read it at least once,

I was scrolling through comments and saw this. One of my favorite mystery series features a female amateur sleuth who loves Jane Austen, quotes her a lot and the first book says she read Pride and Prejudice over 300 times!
I'm not that dedicated, but the books I tend to reread are the classics - Jane Austen, Dickens, Conan Doyle, I was on a Sinclair Lewis kick for a while.

message 83: by Sarah (new)

Sarah (lavanyamakara) | 1 comments I dont typically reread books. I know as a kid I read the Voyage of the Dawn Treader roughly 7 times..but that's the only one I can think of. However I am looking at rereading a few titles since I've gotten back into reading.

message 84: by Valen (new)

Valen (Taylor's Version) (valenncarbone) I love re-reading! I’ve always manage to find new details to be excited about and to fall in love with. Besides, it’s interesting to look at a book with brand new eyes. Your perspective isn’t the same when you’re 16 or when you are at your 30s
Reading a book that you haven’t liked again gives you the chance to change your mind. If you really love a book you will find even more reasons to love it or even hate it, which is pretty interesting too. I think I’ve read Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and The Mortal Instruments 10 times AT LEAST

message 85: by Read-a-lilsmsm (new)

Read-a-lilsmsm (readalilsmsm) | 2 comments I don’t usually reread books...I might go back a reread a specific passage that I loved though

message 86: by Rory Gilmore (new)

Rory Gilmore (artemis1) | 1 comments I’ve done it so many times. I do it with all of my favorites. often When ever I don’t know what to read I will re start a series I love

message 87: by Tanya (new)

Tanya | 26 comments So many times . Everytime I've reread a book I pick up on tiny details that I wouldn't have noticed the first time. And it's fun to reread your favorite books because your way of thinking change from when you first read it. But it definitely would depend on the book
