Alexis Hall (alexishall) | 12 comments So sorry but my book appears to be listed twice.

Here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

And here: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

And on the second occasion, it's listed under the wrong author - i.e. this poor woman (https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...) who is not me.

I know it's because there's an extra invisible space in my name to distinguish us, but my books seem to end up on her author profile all the time anyway. She is probably cursing my name!

The same thing appears to have happen with another book of mine which is listed twice again and on the second occasion linked to her name:

Draconitas (linked to me): https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Draconitas (linked to her): https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/3...

Sorry to bother you with this!

Is there anything further I can do to stop this happening? As it seems to happen every time.

Arenda | 20001 comments Moved both books to your profile and combined with the other edition(s)

Alexis Hall (alexishall) | 12 comments Thank you so much! I really appreciate it.

Is there anything I can do to help distinguish my profile from this other author's?

Arenda | 20001 comments Moved these also to your profile.

It's the books that are imported by Goodreads that can be problematic. The automatic imports can't see which author profile books belong to, and they end up on the 'default' Alexis Hall' profile, which is not your profile.

Just ask here, and your books can be moved to your profile.
Or you can add the books yourself once you have the isbn. Once a book with the isbn is already on your profile, it will not be imported.

Alexis Hall (alexishall) | 12 comments Thank you so much.

I've never added a book before so I assume it just sort of happens by magic - and by the time I think I probably should, it's already happened. I assume that's the automatic import thing you're talking about?

I guess I'll just having to keep bugging librarians then - though I feel really bad about it since I have to do it with every book I release.

Don't worry about it.
You'll have to keep an eye on the other profile to see if any of your books are there.
Moving them is usually quite easy.
