Personality: she's a very comforting person and enjoys listening to people and making them happy, she just likes helping people though when it comes to her problems she's rather not talk about it.
History: her mother pasted away when she was little so she doesn't really remember her much, only a few certain things like her smell and a song she used to sing to her to get her to sleep. She was raised by her father who was poor and tried to care for her the best he could but he couldn't provide for her so he gave her to his mother to raise. When she lived with her grandmother, her aunt came to visit a lot as did her cousins, all six of them. Her aunt was an awful person and so were three of her children, the other three were sweet and kind to Miriam. As she grew older and her aunt heard about the Selection she forced her to enter, so if she wins their lives will be richer and better. Miriam doesn't think she'll win but her grandmother does, (she doesn't know about the aunt being horrible)
