Im liking it Leslie. Yes, the reason for the forbidden is thin and a lot of horrible behavior as a result. However, I do occasionally like the angst so it works for me there. Plus (view spoiler)[it reminds me a bit of old school romance with the heroine who is really noble but downtrodden. I used to eat thoee up. I also like that we get Aleksandr pov we still do not always know his angle. (hide spoiler)]

Bev, now that I'm done please tell me spoiler you know. I'm not going to continue with series. I am curious to know what happens though. I'll have to ask around for deets on books 2 & 3.
Leslie, I looked it up. It is from the last book. So Spoiler on last book. Warning.

Im still at work. Its only 4 here.
I finished Leslie and I may as well just cut and paste your opinion! Ugh! All that time invested! I liked the beginning, but damn the end, SUCKED! I don't think I will continue the series either. I went and looked at a review for the 2nd book and got what I needed. I'll have to check out bev's link up there too.
Leslie, I don't think he knew and yes, that discussion was bizarre to me too....was that something that was common in those days? Hated him too so, so, so much!
Gah. Want to read Leslie's random thoughts.
Im still at 80, she just left the ladies to go back. I fell asleep so early last night.
Ela, I almost read that one. It sounded beautiful and unique. Then I started reading spoilers and more spoilers then discussion groups on it. I actually pretty much know entire story and haven't even read it. I bawled from freaking spoilers!!! That story would gut me. The ending?? Omg...i can't do it. Def a good one for all the angsty/emotional read lovers.
See, I dont think of Transcendence as being angsty or sad. What did you read about it Leslie?
I agree with bev....it was beautiful, sad and heartbreaking but just beautiful and wow and a must read!
Still not read a Lover's Lament either...And I moved up Never Let You Go up the list due to what Tessa said on the blog..and I want to read Pull Me Close....
Too many books and too little time
Yeah BUT TRANSCENDENCE SHOULD COME BEFORE BOTH OF THOSE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND THAT THIRD ONE I DON'T KNOW SINCE I DIDN'T READ IT YET...
I will move it up the list... my books purchased to read is over 3000 but I will move it up - promise
That's why I am trying to get my 1-click under control...it's sorta working..maybe. I have started adding books to my Amazon wish list and getting them when they decrease in price!
LOL Ela! That's right.....I feel better knowing I'm not the only crazy obsessed book buyer out there!
I haven't stopped entirely - I am still buying books most days - but I have cut down... Just got two Meghan Quinn books from the stroked series for 99p each - they were over £2 when iI first saw them - a bargain! However, if I really really want a book I do just 1-click it....so not completely angelic! But I REFUSE to pay £11 for a kindle book that is just bananas!
Completely agree - some of the prices lately have been very high - are they trying to stop us from buying??!
THESE ARE ACTUAL COMPLAINTS RECEIVED BY "THOMAS COOK VACATIONS" FROM DISSATISFIED CUSTOMERS: 1.
"On my holiday to Goa in India, I was disgusted to find that almost every
restaurant served curry. I don't like spicy food."
2.
"They should not allow topless sunbathing on the beach. It was very
distracting for my husband who just wanted to relax."
3.
"We went on holiday to Spain and had a problem with the taxi drivers as they
were all Spanish."
4.
"We booked an excursion to a water park but no-one told us we had to bring
our own swimsuits and towels. We assumed it would be included in the
price."
5.
"The beach was too sandy. We had to clean everything when we returned
to our room."
6.
"We found the sand was not like the sand in the brochure. Your brochure
shows the sand as white but it was more yellow."
7.
"It's lazy of the local shopkeepers in Puerto Vallarta to close in the
afternoons. I often needed to buy things during 'siesta' time -- this
should be banned."
8."No-one told us there would be fish in the water. The children were scared."
9."Although the brochure said that there was a fully equipped kitchen, there was no egg-slicer in the drawer."
10. "I think it should be explained in the brochure that the local convenience store does not sell proper biscuits like custard creams or ginger nuts."
11. "The roads were uneven and bumpy, so we could not read the local guide book during the bus ride to the resort. Because of this, we were unaware of many things that would have made our holiday more fun."
12. "It took us nine hours to fly home from Jamaica to England. It took the Americans only three hours to get home. This seems unfair."
13. "I compared the size of our one-bedroom suite to our friends' three-bedroom and ours was significantly smaller."
14. "The brochure stated: 'No hairdressers at the resort.' We're trainee hairdressers and we think they knew and made us wait longer for service.
15. When we were in Spain, there were too many Spanish people there. The receptionist spoke Spanish, the food was Spanish. No one told us that there would be so many foreigners."
16. "We had to line up outside to catch the boat and there was no air-conditioning."
17. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel."
18. "I was bitten by a mosquito. The brochure did not mention mosquitoes."
19. "My fiancee and I requested twin-beds when we booked, but instead we were placed in a room with a king bed. We now hold you responsible and want to be reimbursed for the fact that I became pregnant. This would not have happened if you had put us in the room that we booked."
BE AWARE...THEY WALK AMONG US and THEY VOTE!!!!
Oh dear...you can take the person out of the UK but not the UK out of the person! I have heard people complain they can't get a good roast dinner in Spain....
Ela, those complaints are hilarious!Paula & Jean, you guys are 1-clicking maniacs!! Wow! I don't even have 1000 books to read and I'm overwhelmed.
Bev, I totally get what you said re: Transcendence but...(view spoiler)
Oh no! I've liked her other books which is why I got it - down the list it goes - 1* - damn that's bad
Geez, I need to check in here more often.Paula!! You broke the 3000 mark before me...YEAH!!! And you absolutely must read Transcendence. Like, NOW. I am not a big fan of books with male POV (will read them but rarely do I love them), but this one was amazing. Beautiful. Unique. With bittersweet tears at the end. But more sweet than bitter. You'll see what I mean. ;) READ IT!!!
I'm cracking up, Ela. Those complaints are hysterical. Reimbursement for getting pregnant? Bitch should have held a nickel between her knees!!
Smart leader? *snort* That doesn't bode well for anyone here. *points to Paula*
The queen is dead.
*points to Ela*
Long live the freaking queen!!!!
