Torture More or Less?

As the author of this series, I've found several reviewers that have had mixed feelings about the level of torture in this mafia erotica. If you've read this story, I'd be very interested to know how you feel about this. More or less torture? Or is the series good the way it is?

Nicholas Ignazio is a sadist. That comes through in his psychotic thought process as well as his actions. Perhaps going "too far" is a perfect way to express his demented mind. Or, perhaps too far is simply too far?
