I don't consider ones where the books aren't out yet finished or unfinished. I put those as up to date. So the unnamed Throne of Glass book you added as an example. I also have unsure about continuing as well. If I start including all of these I'm over 40!

I'll add them to my thread.

message 3: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Yeah I will organize them into sub categories i.e./ urgent, pending release, and audio fast-track (takes me usually around 3 days to complete a 500-600 page book on audio)

message 4: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
And maybe a pipe dream category for ASoIaF and Kingkiller lol

You're going to treat this like the A-Z and be down to no open series soon enough I can see.

Done the Dregs series. Added 2 more incompletes (author decided to continue series further Gah!)

You're doing better than I am. I keep adding series for different group reads or to complete the A-Z.

I never know whether to be happy or annoyed when an author decides to write more in a series that I liked. I'm all, "YAY! more in the series", but then I'm also like, "More to read? I just finished that series!"

message 18: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Me too. Especially when it had a satisfying conclusion already.

Updated, finished Dresden files #4 and started Lightbringer #3

message 21: by Tosh (new)

Tosh Nice list Margret. I like how you listed the next book in the series with the links. I wish I would have thought to do that. Good luck on completing them :)

message 22: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
It's nice cause you can cut and paste the links elsewhere when you've finished them :)

Thank you

I LOVED the Long Price Quartet! It was my first Abraham. So glad you're liking it too :)

Updated: DNF on the Dragonkin Trilogy, completed the Abhorsen books, up to date on Kingkiller... I didn't rate any of the three very high. Feeling grouchy/less forgiving about things today I guess

Started Chaos Walking #3, Powder Mage #3 today

message 28: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Updated. Have completed Powder Mage and Song of the Lioness.

Will be done Chaos Walking and Checquy files soon

Well done Margret. I remember reading the first two Song of the Lioness books when I was twelve back in the 80's.

It's not the most complex or subtle series but it's better than a lot of the shit that's out there now! Mind you that's me speaking as a 30 yo

Finished Checquy Files, continuing on with the Long Price Quartet

message 39: by Tammie (new)

Tammie | 4107 comments Margret wrote: "Finished Checquy Files, continuing on with the Long Price Quartet"

Is the second book in the Checquy files as good as the first one? I've heard mixed things about it and I was disappointed to find out that it isn't from the same persons point of view.

message 40: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
I really liked it, it's still got that same humor. This one is more about the Grafters but the Checquy is still the main focus

message 41: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Finished Chaos Walking. It's quite a good series if you can tolerate the language in it, and the POV's

message 42: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
And of course just as soon as I get my non-up-to-date-list to a manageable 10 series, I started Beyond Redemption lol

Margret wrote: "if you can tolerate the language in it, and the POV's"

This is why I DNF the last book. I finally couldn't stand it anymore.

message 44: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
That's too bad, I definitely struggled with the series because of the language mostly but the rest of it was great!

Started a couple new series.... oh well at least there aren't 10 books in them

Margret wrote: "Started a couple new series.... oh well at least there aren't 10 books in them"

I've been itching to start new ones. So far I've been really good about either not starting them or doing series where only the first one or two are released. However I'm committed to a bunch that have 3 or 4.

message 47: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Yeah, really it was bound to happen with the amount that we read. I find I read faster when I'm not forcing myself to read series consecutively, when I do I kinda burn out

message 48: by Margret, Caladan Brood Face (new)

Margret | 3170 comments Mod
Updated. Finished the Long Price Quartet, and started another series (Sevenwaters) with the FBC Series group. Hopefully another good one!
