Cindy Gast As anyone who knows me knows, I am fanatical about reading books in a series in order. You owe it to the author, to yourself, to society as a whole, people... It's like... the 11th Commandment! Or if it isn't it should be. READ THE #@#$ BOOKS IN ORDER. I usually refer to a website called 'fantasticfiction.com' to establish said order, which I did years ago, the first time I read Vivian Arend's Thompson & Sons series. According to that site the first book in the series was ROCKY RIDE. I checked again when I put together our reading list and (again), the first book was listed as 'Rocky Ride'. But when re-reading the book I found myself wondering (again) about Katy Thompson. There were all these casual mentions of Katy's 'accident' and her struggles with a 'traumatic brain injury', then that out-of-nowhere 'hey, would you look at that, Katy and Gage (seriously??? Gage WHO???) are pregnant!' business. It bothered me, not enough to make me not love the series, but it did bother me. Fast forward to today when, to my total surprise, I happened across the name of the first book in this series.... and it was RIDE BABY RIDE! Hellllo, according to fantasticfiction.com Ride Baby Ride came out in 2016, while ROCKY RIDE came out in 2014. Anyone else have a problem with this?!?!? If it's a prequel (not my favorite scenario, but whatever...) nobody's said so. It's just suddenly listed as the first in the series. Is it just me, or does this whole thing just.... REALLY TICK YOU OFF????? Is this off topic for a book club? Maybe. Ok, probably. But I feel better after having unloaded all this angst, so... thank you, thank you very much.
