I have to be honest. I thought it was a little bit of man law violation for Griff to be lusting after his frat brother's girl---even if his frat brother was a douche.
That still doesn't make it okay

message 10: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) it doesn't. But I was still rooting for them to get through it all.
Loved the Shipley family dynamic.

That Audrey really grew up didn't she? I hate how the BFG people used her to try and snow the farmers. They sent her there so she would use her looks to take advantage of the farmers.

i learned a lot about myself. I am one of those who won't buy bruised fruit, apples, bananas, even squished bread LOL. I never gave farmers a second chance

message 12: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) I'm the same I will only buy stuff that's not damaged. Book made me think a little differently.
I liked the side characters as well I felt she gave the ones who warranted a bit of a story enough to make you wanna know more

I wanted to know more about her mom too. I think it seems like her and her mom misunderstood each other. I hope their relationship grows.

Who knew there was so much politics in trying to be a chef? you gotta take reservations etc

I just started Book 2 on audiobook. I am worried about Jude going back to a place of drugs, plan and ultimately the family of his girl & late best friend

Ezinwanyi Chinyere | 16365 comments Mod
So clearly drug and alcohol abuse is systemic in Jude's family. His dad is an alcoholic, I wonder if his dad also abused oxy.

Did you get a feeling that there is more to Gavin's death than meets the eye? I am going to predict that (view spoiler)

message 18: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) Oh that's a good spoiler.
I know there is definitely more to the crash. A lot of cover up and Jude can't remember a thing.

Okay, now I am back to the book. I had kids activities, so I haven't read past Sophie seeing Jude back in town. Where are you?

Well, we finally know what Gavin was up to. And I believe the chief and his wife KNEW it.
What hypocrites!

Can you believe the sheriff slapped Sophie? Why doesn't he take his wife for counseling? She isn't dealing with her grief at all.

Sophie needs to graduate and move!!

I like the growth of Sophie and Jude.

why do you think Sophie never looked at the police report about her brother before now. It's been 3 1/2 years.

Do you think she had no idea what he was up to?

I am worried that creep who came to Jude's garage will try and take Sophie hostage. Or sent by the Chief of Police (sophie's dad) to harrass Jude

Ezinwanyi Chinyere | 16365 comments Mod
I knew it about Gavin!!!
Is it possible that Sophie isn't his kid? He doesn't love her and never has. I want to know what the mom knew and why she hasn't said anything. Is it possible that the mom was physically abused by the chief?

message 23: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) I think maybe she had no reason to look into the police report. But now that Jude is back and she wants to believe more than anything that his is innocent she has decided to look into it.

A parent definitely have unconditional love for their kids. So I doubt he is the parent. I think maybe the mom had an affair and because the dad is the police chief she cant leave him so she has turned into another person.

Abuse? I don't know. I haven't figured that part out yet.

YAY. Thank you so much. I really appreciate you sharing your gift with me.

Where are you in this book?

I finished the book. What a ride. Where are you in the book?
I hope that cop who helped Sophie becomes a future character

message 26: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) No problem at all. I am just glad someone got the use of it.

From reading Sarina's previous works I don't think the cop will get a side story unfortunately.
I loved that the truth finally came out and that Jude wasn't the complete bad boy that Sophie thought him to be.
I would have liked to know more about the parents history though.

So did we know Zach is a virgin?
I do love stories where the character escaped a religion guys cult because they are usually angsty.

Lark's parents aren't very comforting. She feels like a burden to them

I see now. To Gilman wanted the spontaneous wild girl, not the world conscious do-gooder who wanted to work in Guatemala.

She changed on him and became grounded and more giving.

Boy, zach has incredible self control. He's 23 and his fesr of sexual intimacy still has a grip on him thanks to that church and their beating
I love the slow progress of His relationship with Lark

Griffin's talk with the twins about safe sex was hilarious. Mostly the one with Daphne

Did Lark think that a low resources Non-Profit would keep her on payroll indefinitely??? That's not realistic or sensible. They need hands. She has a trust fund and doesn't need that money

message 36: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) Phew. Sorry I didn't see this at all till now.
I adore this book. I was super excited to hear Zach's story. I didn't take to Lark at the start of the book but she grew on me the more into it we get. I will zoom to where you are now and get to reading some more x

Liza (proseccoprincess) Same here. I needed Jude's story so bad.
I am eagerly anticipating her next release in the series.

Have you read her Brooklyn Bruisers series?

No, they never go on sale. I want to read the series but It's like $7.99 for the kindle books and I was hoping st some point she would do a sale under $3.99 do I can get the audio for $3.99

message 42: by Liza (new) - rated it 5 stars

Liza (proseccoprincess) Are you kidding? Its not that expensive over here.
They are £2.99 here. I live in Ireland so I am always charged more due to currency difference and I am then charged an extra few cent just for buying in a different currency.
