So I just read the first book of this series and loved it. It had some great surprises and twists

Totally agree! It's my favourite in the series. The twists are interesting, I kept trying to guess who was the stood up prince and who was the assassin, until later it's evident by their actions.
I think all main characters have a unique and outstanding personality that will continue developing through out the series. And the kavah and the gift thing are also interesting.

Me 2! It was so creative how she wrote it so we wouldn't know. I thought I had finally gotten them figured out but I ended up being wrong

Hehe That happened to me too. Got confused with the names and descriptions and had to go back a few times.
