MaryG2E (goodreadscommaryg2e) I'm greatly impressed by the quality of the writing in this book so far - about 170 pages in. Would love to devote more time to it over the weekend, but, alas, too many other commitments have meant that I'm snatching an hour here or there. Writing of this standard deserves my full attention! I particularly like the comradely relationship between Detectives Ryan and Maddox - such a refreshing change from the loner, distrustful, often maverick detective stereotype so loved by US crime novelists.

message 3: by Carolyn (new)

Carolyn | 1389 comments I've also started this book - about 1/3 way. As Mary said it's well written and doing a good job at keeping us guessing about the current case and a previous cold case (which might/might not be linked). It's reminded me how much I love a good, well written police procedural.
