Hello, everyone, and welcome October! This is so weird to say, but this is the nominations thread for December's Books of the Month!

As our tradition here at CFD, for December, please only nominate Christmas-themed books!

For your convenience, here are all of the Christmas-themed reads that we've read as a group: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books...

PLEASE REVIEW THESE GUIDELINES:
-Please do not nominate a book we've already read as a group. You will be asked for a different nomination if you do. Find our shelves here: https://www.goodreads.com/group/books....
-Remember that a book must be out for 6 months or more to be eligible for nominations and voting
-Try not to nominate an author that we've read that year already
-If it is a book in a series that is not the first book, make sure you know that it can be read as a standalone and doesn't require the previous books being read to understand and enjoy.
-Please note that there may be more reasons that a book is not a good fit for nominations or group members as a whole, whether it be availability, cost, accessibility, etc. The moderators reserve the right to make these decision. Thank you for your understanding! :)

Nominations will be open through the 15th of the month, then for the remainder of the month, the voting poll will be open.

Nominations as of Oct. 14:
1. The Christmas Star by Ace Collins
2. A Basket Brigade Christmas: Three Women, Three Love Stories, One Country Divided by Judith McCoy Miller
3. Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter
4. Nutcracker Christmas by Jennifer AlLee
5. Tidings of Comfort & Joy byb T. Davis Bunn
6. A Wild Goose Chase Christmas by Jennifer AlLee
7. The Fruitcake Challenge by Carrie Fancett Pagels
8. A Patchwork Christmas Collection by Judith McCoy Miller and others
9. The Doctor's Christmas Quilt by Kathi Macias

Awesome! Just make sure that you vote on the poll once it opens here in a couple of days! That's what makes your vote count.

I will nominate A Patchwork Christmas Collection. It's been on my Kindle for a while and one I hope to read this year.

Falling Like Snowflakes (Summer Harbor #1) by Denise Hunter
Falling Like Snowflakes by Denise Hunter

and

A Patchwork Christmas Collection by Judith McCoy Miller
A Patchwork Christmas Collection by Judith McCoy Miller, Nancy Moser and Stephanie Grace Whitson

Hannah (bookwormhannah) | 942 comments Great! I read Denise Hunter's last year and own a copy of the other one. I should be able to drop into both conversations! :)

Jane | 120 comments Oh they both look good!! I'm starting to get in the mood!!

Oh, I'm getting more excited. I wonder if I could use A Patchwork Christmas Collection as my "red cover" for the book cover challenge? (I was gonna sort of cheat and read a 27 page short story! The Legend of Obadiah Wilder: The Glorious Defeat of the Dickenson Gang But this Christmas collection would probably be better!) What do ya'll think? Either way, I could definitely use it for the "new author to me" challenge. Yay!

Marion | 124 comments I will be joining the Falling Like Snowflakes discussion, but my Polly Prude is surprised Thomas Nelson published that cover picture. I haven't read the story to know if it's significant, but that is what kept me from reading the book last Christmas. The reviews are mostly positive though so I'm giving it a go.

"Polly Prude"--Marion, you make me laugh. I had not paid much attention to the cover. I thought it looked kinda Christmassy. Now I just looked closely and I see what you mean. Interesting position they're in!? Hmmm? Most people seemed to think it was clean, but maybe slightly more sensuous than other Christian books? Oh well.....cute sweater!

That scene does not occur in the book! Thomas Nelson is now owned by a big publisher (HarperCollins, I think) and is getting more progressive...but Hunter's books are still safe to read!

Jane | 120 comments Good to know, Hannah. You gave it five stars, so I knew it had to be safe! :))
