When Should You Run A Book Giveaway?

Hi All,

What do you think is the best time to run a book giveaway? Before your book comes out (ending before your release date) or on the day your book is released? I'm trying to figure out which is the best way to drum up interest in the book/help with book sales? Just fyi, I'll be publishing an ebook, so a Goodreads giveaway won't be an option.

Thanks! Any advice or personal experience would be much appreciated.

Before the book is released. I think it's said within 3 months before release date.
