Megan Cheang | 83 comments Hi Leigh! I know this started for Crooked Kingdom but I can't read it yet and I still passionately adore the Grisha Trilogy and am hoping that some questions about it will be answered. It's just 5 questions!
1) Please tell us what is the history of Sun Summoners before Alina came along. I'm guessing one was her ancestor and practiced merzost.
2) Please tell us the history of Rusalye! Was he really a prince?
3) in Siege and Storm, who were the Darkling's spies and did they influence Vasily's decision to go to Fjerda?
4) When did Alina's 3 suitors develop feelings for her? I'm kind of hoping Nikolai saw her as a potential love interest.
5) When the Darkling first told Alina about the Cut, was he really testing her? And if yes, how did Alina fail it?

Thank you for answering my questions (if you will), and I can't wait to read Crooked Kingdom!

P.s. As an aspiring writer, I hope you can give me advice. How do you make your characters so interesting and witty?

message 4: by Rafael (new)

Rafael (royalpolarbearraf) | 1 comments 1. What is your inspiration on creating Grishaverse from Grisha Trilogy to Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom?
2. What is your favorite quote on your own book and why?
3. Of all the culture that you can adapt for your book, why the Russian culture? (I believe it was Russian, correct me if I am wrong)
4. The most different part on writing Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom?
5. How did they end up on designing the cover for your books?
6. Name your top 5 favorite foods!
7. If you are going to have a date on someone, dead or alive, fictional or not, who would it be? And what will you do on your date?
8. Given a chance to ask a dead person way back 50 years ago, who would you ask and what would you ask and why?
9. What are the books that influences you as a reader and a writer before you became a full-pledged author?
10. Mention some favorite friends in bookish community!

Nilun (BooktasticNerd) (booktasticnerd) | 13 comments Hey Leigh, so you've mentioned in interviews before that you'd like to write another series set in the Grishaverse and you've also said that you'd like to write more about Nikolai, which we as fans would absolutely love. So my question is: if this were to ever really become a reality, What could we expect? Is there something specific about Nikolai that you have in mind to build a plot around and can you give us a hint? Thanks for allowing us the opportunity to ask questions.

Xena Alexa (booksandcraft) First of all I just want to say hi Leigh!
I have 5 questions:
1. Did you get inspiration for your characters from people in real life?
2. If you could invite an author and fictional character for coffee who would it be?
3. Will the last chapter of crooked kingdom be a epilogue?
4. What is your favourite Six of Crows fanart?
5. Where do you get your inspirations writing your books?

message 7: by Manosha (new)

Manosha | 1 comments Hi Leigh,

(I love all your books btw, they're absolutely amazing!)

message 8: by Xoxoasia (new)

Xoxoasia | 2 comments Hi Leigh!! I absolutely love your books! You are an extremely talented writer and you have inspired me to write books as well. Also, I'd be happy if you would take the time to answer my questions.
1. Where do you like to write? I'm looking for a place that I could buckle down and write out my thoughts and my house isn't cutting it.
2. How do you stay motivated throughout writing a story?
3. Out of all of your novels, which one was the hardest to write? The most fun?

Raijean M (raijean2) | 1 comments Hello Leigh! I have yet to read the Grisha Trilogy but I have read Six os Crows and i absolutely adored it!! And I would love it if you answered some questions for me:
- How did you come up with the idea of the whole heist plot of Six of Crows?
-How long have you been writing?
-Who designed the cover for your books and why did you decide to make the sides of the pages colored?
- How did you come up with all the names of the characters in Six of Crows?

message 12: by TheMadMochi (new)

TheMadMochi Why does Jesper like to make fun of Wylan so much?

Has Kaz always liked Inej?

Thank you so much and I love Six Of Crows.

message 14: by MollyE (new)

MollyE | 6 comments Hello.
1. Six of crows : Why did Kaz and his brother go to Ketterdam in the first place?
2. Grisha: How did the Darkling get his powers,is he the only one who has had these powers, and why did he chose to call himself the darkling.
That's it for now, thank you.
Oh and what about a prequel to six of crows-Kaz's childhood.

message 15: by Adella G (new)

Adella G | 1 comments Hi Leigh!!
Have you ever seen EXO's Monster? You should look up the meaning because I swear it is the lyrical embodiment of the Darkling.
Thanks!
PS. You are literally more of an inspiration than what I can express in words. Thank you for so much.

message 16: by Maryanne (new)

Maryanne | 246 comments Will there be more books on the Grisha, but have different perspective?
I love the books so much, and I miss reading them. Wish you could've written more, instead of them being a trilogy, you could make them a series.
You are truly amazing, and I love your work very much! Thank you for writing such amazing books for the readers out there.

message 17: by A2z (new)

A2z (arianafernandez) | 1 comments Greetings from the heart of Kaz Brekker haha! (sorry other Crows, but I also love all of you. Just more Kaz here.)

Amazing Leigh, will there be more worlds in the Grishaverse? (like is there hope Alina and Kaz' world is just the Earth of a universe where there's Mars.. Neptune.. the Death Star?

- say 'BREKKERED' for a sweet, taunting 'MAYBE',
- say 'PAREM' for 'no freaking way. do not hope. just dont.'

*don't let the time bugs get at you <3

message 18: by Nya (new)

Nya | 2 comments Hi Leigh! My name is Nya and I am a huge fan of Six of Crows! Recently my friends and I decided to throw a book party (basically where we talk about our favorite books and cosplay our favorite characters and etc.) For the cosplay, I chose Inej, and I need your help!!! I don't want to mess up this character! How would you describe Inej? (complexion, hair, clothes, and etc.)

Thank you for your time!!!

message 19: by Grey Wolf (new)

Grey Wolf | 1 comments I love the Grisha trilogy, and Six of Crows was good as well. Just a few questions:
(And for people looking at this- possible spoilers)
1. In the Look Inside on Amazon, Crooked Kingdom has a list of characters. Alina is listed as dead, which I understand- the world thinks she's dead. But why isn't the Darkling listed as dead?
2. Will we ever see someone from the Southern Colonies?
3. What would happen if a very powerful Grisha- like the Darkling or Alina when she had the amplifiers- took jurda parem? Especially with the powers of Sun Summoning, or the Darkling's gift.
4. Who would come out on top in a fight: Sturmhond's crew or Kaz's?

message 20: by Gracie (new)

Gracie | 1 comments Hello! I absolutely love Six of Crows and can't wait to read Crooked Kingdom!

1. Will Nina and Inej ever get to eat waffles together?
2. What was the most challenging and most fun thing about writing chapters from Wylan's POV?
3. Can any of the Six of Crows gang cook well?
4. If you could have lunch with any of the Six of Crows characters, which one would you choose?

message 21: by Jodie (last edited Sep 11, 2016 02:46PM) (new)

Jodie (bearableblog) | 1 comments 1. Which of the Six of Crows crew members were the hardest to create/conceptualise/write about?
2. We've seen a lot of backstory, especially for Kaz, will we see more of this for the other characters?
3. Which characters do you most enjoy writing from the perspective of?

message 22: by s (new)

s (cherrybelugas) | 1 comments Hi Leigh!!! I know you gave the others heights, but how tall is Wylan??

message 23: by Kimberly (new)

Kimberly Everill | 2 comments Hello! I was wondering if you had the chance to change something in your books what would it be? Thank you!

message 24: by Kailah (new)

Kailah | 3 comments Leigh, if you were to write another story in the Grishaverse, would you go to a new location like Noyvi Zem or the Wandering Isle, or would you stay in Ravka or Kerch?

message 25: by Kailah (new)

Kailah | 3 comments Which of your characters would you most want to get coffee with? Have a sleepover with? Get to help you hide a body? :)

message 26: by Donna (last edited Sep 14, 2016 01:13AM) (new)

Donna | 2 comments Warning: *SPOILERS********
Hi, Leigh I just wanted to ask if in the *hopefully-sometime-in-the-future* Nikolai book, we'll get to know more about (view spoiler)

Also, will Nina and (view spoiler) start their Grisha training?

Do any of the Grisha Trilogy characters appear in CK (like in SoC)??

message 27: by Gael (new)

Gael | 1 comments KitKat wrote: "Why does Jesper like to make fun of Wylan so much?

Jesper and Wylan? Flirting. He's flirting with him. :)

message 28: by Eulaine (last edited Sep 17, 2016 07:48AM) (new)

Eulaine Marie (missaintitfun) | 5 comments Hi Leigh! I really really love Six of Crows and I cannot wait for the sequel!

What amazes me the most is how you come up with those terms (like jurda parem) or the language (like the Ravkan/Kerch language)? I tried to search it, I can't seem to find if there is such thing as those terms in the actual life. Just curious. :D

message 29: by Raniyah.B (last edited Sep 16, 2016 07:02PM) (new)

Raniyah.B | 3 comments Hello!
I am such a huge fan of your books and Six of Crows was one of the books that inspired me to write my own. They are amazing novels.

Questions...
1) What messages and meaning does Crooked Kingdom have in store for readers?

2) What advice do you have for aspiring writers?

3) How will the relationship between the Crows develop in CK?

4) If Kaz, Inej, Wylan, Jesper, Nina and Matthias lived in our world, how would they be different?

5) In SoC we learn about Kaz's backstory and a bit about Matthias's, will we be learning more about Inej, Jesper, Wylan & Nina's

Thank you so much for answering!

message 30: by elliekatieb (new)

elliekatieb Hi Leigh! Here's an incredibly important question - I think others will agree with me on that - that is just as clever and creative as everyone else's, I swear... Will you be visiting the UK anytime soon? I would *love* to have the chance to meet you, and I'll be sure to come up with some better conversation starters if (and when, I hope) you do visit.

message 31: by Zoe (new)

Zoe Lipman | 3 comments Leigh you are amazing, and the author to what is probably my favorite book of all time.

I was curious, what genres of music would Kaz, Inej, Matthias, Nina, Wylan and Jesper would listen to - what would their style be?
And what sort of occupations they would all have if they weren't in the Dregs?
No mourners, no funerals.

message 32: by MollyE (new)

MollyE | 6 comments So ,I have one question.
Will Kaz make his move on Inej?
I need to know.

message 33: by Lexie (new)

Lexie | 9 comments First of all, I absolutely love SoC, it is one of my favourite books of all time and a huge source of inspiration for me.

I have a question. Since SoC is so sadly only going to be a duology... Are you planning to possibly do any novellas or anything about any of the Crows?

marina Eulaine wrote: "Hi Leigh! I really really love Six of Crows and I cannot wait for the sequel!

I think she said the language was Dutch-based...

message 35: by Kristy (new)

Kristy | 5 comments Can you please play Marry, Kiss, or Kill with your characters?

Raniyah.B | 3 comments Megan wrote: "Um, I have a question, how exactly will Leigh answer our questions?"

Yeah, same question. And when?

message 39: by Ray (new)

Ray | 2 comments This is probably one of the most common questions of all Leigh, but here goes...
Will there be any other book or novella or short story by you with the characters of the SoC series?

message 40: by Raniyah.B (new)

Raniyah.B | 3 comments Megan wrote: "Hi Leigh! I know this started for Crooked Kingdom but I can't read it yet and I still passionately adore the Grisha Trilogy and am hoping that some questions about it will be answered. It's just 5 ..."

Would love those answers too! Also, can I marry Nikolai?

message 41: by Dawn (new)

Dawn | 1 comments Was writing YA novels a conscious choice, or did the stories make that decision for you? If the former, how did you reach that conclusion?

message 42: by Lexie (new)

Lexie | 9 comments Are we allowed to ask multiple questions, I just have to ask this!
Who is your favourite character, not necessarily to write but just in general?

message 43: by Kristy (last edited Nov 03, 2016 09:51PM) (new)

Kristy | 5 comments Kristy wrote: "Can you please play Marry, Kiss, or Kill with your characters?

Another question...Which character do you identify the most with, or was the easiest for you to write?
Please answer! Thank you!
