Vintage (vintagesedona) In the immortal words of Andre Delambre aka the Fly, "Help me!"

After two dour (see kind of gross) MC books and some bleh NA, I need some sweetness and light. Perhaps a grumpy hero shaken up by a cute and cheerful Mary Sue innocent.

Any suggestions please?

I love Julia Quinn although I'll be honest, I have not been able to finish her late, Because of Miss Bridgerton. I also adore Lisa Kleypas who, while excellent, is not known for her jollies.

Thanks for any help.

Kelly

QNPoohBear | 45 comments Emily Hendrickson's Regencies are mostly light without much substance. My go-to light, fun reads are always Georgette Heyer's books. I love Barbara Metzger for a good laugh and Marion Chesney. Indiscretion is also quite good. I'm not into Mary Sue heroines so I can't help you there but I enjoy a good romantic comedy.

Charisse | 20 comments I agree about Georgette Heyer, although her language can be a challenge if you just want to kick back. Try my Regency Rakes & Rebels novellas? -- sweetness & light & humor guaranteed to lift your spirits, spicy enough to get your blood flowing, + a fun dash of substance.
