Kirsten (kmcripn) "In The Quiet American, Graham Greene lied about my diplomat parents and other innocents."

Yrinsyde | 254 comments I recently read this and thought it brilliant. I'm not sure it is an anti-American novel, it is more about damning Western interference and colonialism. The French do not get off easily and neither do the British. The Americans seem very touchy about this novel still. The author of the article is too close to the action to be a neutral reporter and it is co-incidence. I guess there were many relationships happening during this period. Interesting piece though, even if the title of the article is misleading!
