Dark Triumph by Robin LaFevers? Some Amazon reviewers say, "[Sybella is] a Daughter of Mortain (an assassin for Death). " and "[Sybella's] father, d'Albret, is a monster and she longs for the order to kill him. In the meantime she enjoys assassinating his underlings... Sybella finds herself accompanying the Beast of Waroch, a berserker imprisoned by her father. He's not handsome, but he is ridiculously noble and tough."

Anees, what year did you read this book?

Anees Iqbal | 9 comments i think i read it this year. It was a magic/scifi book. There was a goddess called the spinner who sent her priestess to defeat the guy who was using the book of death.

Juels | 2531 comments Where is it set - on Earth, a fantasy world, etc.? What is the time frame - historical or contemporary? Why does she have to kill her father?

Anees, you need to add plot details to your header to make it easier for the people searching for your book, since 88% of posters here are looking for fantasy.

Anees, are you still looking for this or did you find it?

Did you rule out "Dark Triumph"?

That isn't it but thank you. It was a fantasy book, and death was a literal person who was her father.
