Shaunesay Welcome to our week long read-a-thon. That's right, at Hooked on Books we've decided that there aren't enough hours in a day, or days in a week, so our week long read-a-thons run for 8 days! Each participant reads from 12:01am on Saturday to 11:59pm on the following Saturday in their local time zone.

To sign up simply start yourself a post to track what you've read during the read-a-thon. Edit your post throughout the read-a-thon to let everyone know which books you've read & your total number of pages. Feel free to copy my post as a template

Stardust by Neil Gaiman While I enjoyed the writing (I love Neil Gaiman), I'm gonna have to reread this again later since I had a hard time concentrating. So no rating for now.
Second Chance Summer by Morgan Matson 75% read. It's been okay, nothing super wonderful imo. My expectations were decently high going in though, since I know this is several people's favourite Morgan Matson book and she's so well-loved.

Shaunesay I've got Alex and Jonel added to the lineup!

How has everyone's day started? I pushed myself to finish Uprooted by Naomi Novik this morning, it was good, just slow going for me for some reason. I think I liked her Temeraire book better, I've only read the first of the series so far. But then I'm not a huge fan of fairy-tale-esque stories. I don't dislike them, but they aren't my favorite style either. Has anyone else read either of those? what did you think?

I'm so looking forward to reading Vicious!

Jasmiina F (slipperbunny) | 91 comments I was at work yesterday, but in the evening I made nice progress with Northanger Abbey. This is my first Jane Austen novel, which seems weird. I actually just finished it and it was good, but not that exciting. My favorite thing was how passionate Catherine and Henry were about novels. Next I'm going to read some poetry.

I really need to read this book. I've only heard great things about it.

Jonel It's too hot in my apartment to even read. lol. I'm lying on the couch, book in hand, counting down the minutes for the sun to go down and the heat to die off just a little bit.

And, happy belated birthday Heather

Heather | 1262 comments Thank you! I have read about 20 pages today so far but I have been cleaning the rest of the time!

Shaunesay Not many pages today, a bit on The Last Wish, and a Weird Al concert that was a lot of fun!!

Jasmiina F (slipperbunny) | 91 comments I'm pleased with how my weekend went. I had long days at work but I managed to read 168 pages and now I have already finished Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen and The Point of Inconvenience. I just started reading The Norse Myths and it seems interesting so far.

Shaunesay Look at you all go! I need to get some more pages in myself! We're just about halfway!

C (waiehse) | 55 comments Wow so today I finished Infinite Jest which I've been reading/listening to on audiobook since January (though my first attempt to read this beast was over 3 years ago!). Wow I can't believe it's over. Anyone have this kind of book/series experience? I can't wait to get my physical copy back so I can start from the beginning with a million sticky notes!

Hopefully I can get over this massive book hangover and read some more books this week (instead of trolling the internet for theories about this book.

Interesting, I've never heard of that one before, and it does look to be pretty hefty! I guess the only big books series that would come close for me are probably The Mists of Avalon and the Outlander series, but definitely a completely different story idea.

Heather | 1262 comments I have been super busy with work this week so I haven't gotten as much reading done as I would like! Here's to hoping I finish Little Women!

Jasmiina F (slipperbunny) | 91 comments I'm still reading The Norse Myths, because I've been a little sick and it makes me feel tired. But tomorrow I'm just going to stay at home and hopefully I'll finish it.

Heather | 1262 comments Unless I read all day tomorrow on the beach there is no way I am going to finish Little Women haha I have around 300 pages left of it!
