Jim Vuksic Writing a novel was just one of four items included in a bucket list that my late wife insisted I create upon retiring in 2001. I finally got around to it in 2009. It was published Aug. 9, 2011.

Imagine a world in which there is no war, crime, poverty, hunger, prejudice, inequality, bigotry, envy or greed. Everyone, without exception, has access to the exact same quantity and quality of food, clothing, housing, medical care, formal education and social advancement opportunities. Being different is not merely tolerated, it is considered admirable.

Now imagine that, in this world, the words father, mother, daughter, son, brother, sister, family, marriage, government and religion do not exist because the concepts themselves do not exist. The inhabitants are occasionally transported to a place they never knew existed and required to do something without having the slightest idea of what they are doing or why it must be done.

Can you imagine such a world? Well, I did. If you should choose to visit it someday, I hope that you enjoy reading about the world of Levels as much as I enjoyed creating it.

Patti and Gingerlily,

Your notification of the typo has been noted and it has been corrected. Thank you for noticing and taking the time to point it out.

Gingerlily - The Full Wild | 36808 comments The concept of the book is kind of intriguing. I must go and have a look.

I swear she types with her knuckles.

Jim Vuksic Roll the Credits!
Just as the credits at the end of a movie are often ignored, so it is with all of the talented people whose skills contribute so much to the publishing process.

I now offer my sincere expression of appreciation for and recognition of those who helped to convert a manuscript into a published novel.

Roll the credits!:
Stacy Baker - Head of the Acquisition Dept.
Lauren Downen - Copy Editor
Patrick O'Donnell - Conceptual Editor
Sarah Kirchen - Layout Design Artist
Blake Brasor - Cover/Spine/Backmatter Design Artist
Stephen Rozzell - Professional Narrator
Brandon Morgan - Website Design & Maintenance
Ingram/Spring Arbor - Distributors
Dallas Franklin - Publicist
Terry Cordingley - Director of Marketing

Thank you all!
